A friend of mine lost (as in died) his pet tarantula a few weeks ago and has offered me his vivarium and all his kit. I have always toyed with the idea of keeping a tarantula and wondered if any one else keeps them and what are the best ones to keep and what are the pitfalls. I have bought couple of books from Amazon and slowly going through them but a practical insight would be very helpful. Thanks

Can you teach it to do anything? I don't know that they are lovey or cuddly or that they will play fetch...

Spiders are very shy..they also like dark quiet places and molt their whole exoskeleton once a year causing them great distress

Believe it or not tarantulas are not aggressive...if u provoke or invade their nests they attack

I don't believe in exotic pets

If u need one a pet please adopt never shop

But pets require lots of care and time..even spiders

Plus u have to go and buy LIVE food for them

Just a few thoughts from an animal lover smile

Have always had pet skunks.
If you think you can, you will. If you doubt, you may never try.
