I prefer to know a bit about the person who's got my dick in their mouth, to be honest. I mean, I don't need an annotated calendar of every guy and/or girl that she's been with but knowing generally if she's been a nun or promiscuous or somewhere in the middle like most of us matters. If it was a "cold" encounter, I'd want protection involved that I might be willing to forego if I knew her history and trusted her. I mostly agree with seeker4 here: I don't need to know all the specifics about her sexual past (her exact 'number' and all that, which is often a misleading information anyway), but I need to know her well enough to feel secure about the whole thing.

Generally speaking however, I'm not into one-nighters or anonymous-sex and I much prefer when there's at least a baseline level of fondness/affection between my partners and I, so the girls that I usually end up having sex with rarely are perfect strangers and they often emit a pretty positive vibe in terms of 'sexual awareness' (ie. I know I can trust them because I'm quite confident that they care about their own health). If I don't get that positive vibe it's unlikely that I'd want to have sex with them anyway, they probably wouldn't even be my type in terms of personality and the 'sexual connection' just wouldn't be there. Plus, I usually keep the same partners for quite a few months and my partners often have similar sexual habits, which diminishes the risks of transmission by a considerable margin.

I've always used a condom for proper penetration, but admittedly I did indulge into 'risky oral sex' a few times through my life (while either giving or receiving), especially during the first few years of my sexual-life (from 18-20). I vividly remember one time when a girl I barely knew invited me to her place: I popped ecstasy earlier in the evening and I couldn't get a hard-on at all, so I was somehow forced to eat the pussy of a more-or-less reputable girl. I kept thinking that I was getting an STD while licking her pussy; pretty disgusting and not a fun experience at all. You know, this is one of the biggest reasons why I don't have sex with people I'm not in a relationship with. If you're dating someone, it is more comfortable to talk with them about your history.


If it's just a hook up with some random person at a bar, it's kind of a mood killer to then ask them what their history is.

I am confused by this question. Are we saying other forms of sex would be ok? Why particularly oral? I would surmise that of all the sexual encounters oral is probably one of the safest - unless the giver bites too hard and draws blood. smile This question may have more significance if it had said anal. Having said that I think the idea of sex with an unknown factor should always be with safety precautions for the sake of both parties.
