It's been many years, 25 to be exact, since my girlfriend and I took a Carnival Cruise to the Bahamas, it was the second voyage of their newest ship, Fantasy . I was 25, she was 19. She had been on a cruise before, but I had not. She wanted to go, so we booked the top-of-the-line accommodations. Our cabin had a wet bar, a love seat, and our own private veranda. One thing that I'm not sure still occurs, is that when you are in the dining room, your waiter/steward, uses that window of time , while you're dining, to make-up your cabin, Now, here is the interesting part, in the evening, during dinner, he would turn down our bed and place mints on the pillow . . .but also, he would select lingerie, from my girlfriends wardrobe, and have it laying out on the bed for her. My girlfriend was aware of this being standard practice on Carnival, but I'm sure that many passengers were not. Not sure if this tradition is still carried out, but be prepared . . .I think it would be a good lead in if you are in conversation with another couple, and want to steer it towards the bedroom. "Did you know that they used to" . . . or " Were you surprised by your steward laying out your . . ." We made friends with one couple, about our age, because they were partaking in many of the same onboard activities that we were. There are bars, nightclubs and a casino onboard, and we "did the rounds." The passengers seemed to be all couples and families, perhaps a few singles, but it was definitely not the "Love Boat." When in port, in Nassau, we signed up for a day trip to an island day resort. We rented a wave runner, ate, drank, and sunbathed on the beach. And yes, we ran into the couple there too . . .I'm recalling how cute she was, Italian or maybe Greek, petite, with her straight black hair pulled back into a pony tail, strapless bikini top, small breasts, awesome little butt . . .okay, if you're wondering, my girlfriend was a natural redhead, 5'4, 130, 34b-25-34(maybe), two years removed from high school, where she had been a member of an elite cheer squad, and she was also a very seasoned water skier, very strong arms and legs as a result. I almost forgot to mention, on the second night of the cruise, as I lay in bed, she came out of the bathroom wearing her high school cheer uniform (many months earlier, while looking at some photos from her "cheer days," I had commented how I had always fantasized about the cheerleaders when I was in school, but unfortunately it, my fantasy, had never been fulfilled), needless to say, I was in heaven. We parted ways a year or so later, but I will always remember our cruise, as one of the spectacular highlights, of which there were numerous, of our relationship. Have a great time!
