Lactation, as in adult breast feeding, seems to be a taboo practice. Health-wise, while nursing from a woman's tits, some hormones are released in her blood, which induce feelings of attachment and safety too.
Given the right age, if suckled regularly on a lover's breast, on a specific time every day for a while, she may start lactating. There are medications which do that for older women, but i believe they could be dangerous, so we dont go for that option often.
I definitely feel its frowned upon, though, because its rare to find an erotica describing it in detail and as an important part of the lesbian couples' love making. I dont know the reason for the same.

Oddly, I have a lactation scene in a story that's sitting in my personal slush pile. Just kind of slipped in spontaneously as I wrote a hot love scene. The problem is that the woman providing the milk really should not be lactating based on the background I've built so I'm kind of mulling over what to do with it; remove the lactation play or change the background to give her a reason to be producing milk. Your suggestion about regular breast play causing it might be the fix (though, again, I'd need to establish that in the background).

The only fact that adult breast feeding is considered TABOO, makes it an exciting thing for both sexes. Personally, I ve had a few occasions when I fed my breast milk to other adults. It kinda excited both of us. Moreover, I think men find it very very kinky, and if they come to know that their partner is lactating, they do not miss a chance to get the taste of her milk.

the only reason i could see it being labeled as taboo is because it's an act that's normally designated for mother and child. i was actually introduced to it first here. a friend had written a story with a lactation scene in it. in reading it and discussions with him, i discovered how erotic, and intimate, the act can be.

I never seriously thought about it - I felt that it was somehow tied in with that whole "baby" thing, with diapers and such, but that's probably just because I don't know much about the practice.
