Friend requests issues

I don't know much about this place so help me if I'm wrong here ..Somebody sent me a FR and I accepted it now the person is showing on my FR list but at the same time I can still see that person's FR message in its respective section as "unread" message and still with the option to "accept". I've tried it many times and it's still the same.

So is this how this is supposed to be or is it some sort of bug?

It happens. In your inbox, accept it and then it would show that the person is already friend with you. I just checked my inbox. It remains that way. Eveif its says you are friends with the person, you can refresh the page and it would revert back. No worries.

Have you actually opened the message? Click on the subject link "X has requested to be your friend", the message will open up and will be seen as read.

The fix would be for the system to mark the message as read once either the accept or decline options are pressed. The old system used to have the requests deleted once they were accepted.

I also find that messages are not getting through - i have sent about 25 thsi week and had a reply on only one - this site is appalling for that and there is no way they will get money from me

Perhaps it's not that the requests are not being delivered, but what you are sending that puts people off accepting. Did you consider that?

Accepting a Friend Request does not mean that you READ the email that told you that you had a friend request. They system allows you to accept it, but you don't have to open and read their message in order to do so. So, the message will remain as "UNREAD" in your inbox until you actually click on the message and read it.

Does that make sense? I am not saying it is the way it should be, but that is what I have found as I use Lush.

Friends are non-issues, but request sometimes are. Keep it neat and I will probably respond.

I have found that if I open an email or request then I hit the back ARROW on my toolbar or search engine, the Lush friend request or email message remains in the unread/unopened status. You need to hit the underlined Lush command in the upper left corner of the Lush window that says Back To Your Message after you have officially opened it. It should then be marked and remain in opened status.

The friend request messages used to delete once you either accepted or declined a request.

However, Gav (our site tech expert) recently implemented a feature that will not remove a friend request message once you've accepted it, and it will show as unread in your inbox. So once you accept a friend request, you will have to manually delete it from your inbox in order for it to go away.

I'm not sure if the same applies if you decline a friend request.

Hello.

Since yesterday I can't send friend request. It shows on my sent file that one was sent to user but none was received. Have used chatroom "add friend" option then by going to their profile but it comes up saying that request was sent already. Spoke to a few users in room, some sent and I received notification but others sent and I received nothing.

Everything can be done, once we get to the bottom of the issue

We added a feature recently to prevent new members who were sending 100+ requests per day, with links to dating / porn sites, from doing so.

Clearly you don't fall into that category, being a paying member. But you are fairly new, and I'm wondering if we need a minor code change.

How many requests are you sending? How do you know some are received and others aren't, from conversations with people in chat only?

Thank you for such a speedy reply on the matter.
I've sent less that 10 friend request to users (since August 27th) I've spoken to in rooms and have been friendly with. In my first message in this thread some users were kind enough to send friend request just to see if it went through which they did as I first received notification while we were all still in chatroom.

How do I know? I've asked member if they received notification/request and response has been, "no."
I've sent request while using both options in room...scrolling down and right clicking on their name in chatroom and lastly by visiting their profile page and get red box message stating "a request to this user has been sent."

I'm not one to bombard users with friend request.

I spoke too soon...friend request are sent one day and received later in the week.
Today I change my relationship status and now that I want it as it was yesterday request isn't going through.
First time being a paid member(was gifted membership) but was here as free account user and never had issues until a day before August 27th.
