Yeah, I probably just took it that way because she is a lesbian and so am I so I just identify with it that way. It reminds me of my ex girlfriend who used to sing it when we would go to karaoke night at our favorite bar.

Either way it's haunting and I love it. Even if I put an 's' at the end, lol! Maybe that's the sequel. heart

If that's the way it works for you, who can say you're wrong? If it evokes a personal memory that is special to you, go for it! Thank you for spelling it out. When I got married 35 years ago, the song "Longer" by Dan Fogelberg was played at our wedding. Every time I have heard that song since then, I am transported back to my wedding day. I have an emotional tie to that song that is very specific. That is how music works.

Great song, and I can sort of see how you could see it as a lesbian song, but I also know that this song has been used a number of times in hetero weddings. The personal context is what matters. My mother got really mad at me when I explained to her that the John Lennon song "Imagine" meant the exact opposite of how she interpreted it. She thought it was pro religion.
