I've never given them a second thought. HOWEVER, I just got some panties from Victoria's Secret that claims no panty lines and I'll be darned if there aren't any. Have I been missing the boat for years and not paying enough attention to panty lines? Should I be in a thong (Don't answer that)?

What do you think? Huge faux pas or who cares?

Panty lines are OK in jeans but anything else? I would say no.

I usually check out my panty-lines in a mirror before going out. If they look bad, I change into a thong, but I pretty much know how all my clothes are going to look on me. My butt draws enough attention already without the detraction of panty-lines showing through.

Yes. You can tell how important it is by the way I posted it in the "En vogue" portion of the forum.

I think panty lines can be kinda hot. Bra lines too. When did they become a fashion no-no?

I usually wear a thong so it's not much of an issue and I've never given it much thought until now. I do have boyshorts and to be fair I just realised that I don't wear them with things like yoga pants or anything where the panty line shows. I am a no panty line girl it would seem.

VS knickers are fabulous. I have a whole bunch of lingerie from there and no one to wear it for *sobs*

Another good reason to be happy if you're a guy. You're pretty much going to choose "boxers or briefs" one time and go with that whether they're under jeans, slacks or shorts.

OTOH, many women and girls have a never ending problem with panty lines. I've literally watched my wife throw a pair across the room in frustration. Just when she finds a solution, the manufacturer discontinues that item. The original VS "Lacie" was a prime example. Go read the customer complaints at the changeover when women could not understand why VS had to *&^% with the most perfect panty ever made. Essentially I helped my wife "engineer" her way through most of the problem. Most. One solution offered was no panties at all. She sees enough of that solution, and more than enough of the side effects, in yoga class and it got vetoed right off the bat. Apparently (no pun intended), anything that makes panty lines less apparent seems to make camel toe more of a problem. Today's trend towards less and less pubic hair among the young ladies makes some things even more visible. And that's not even mentioning the effect when combined with the semi-transparent yoga pants that Lululemon sold for a while and had to recall. Another solution was any of the various thongs. She felt like she was wearing a rope in an intimate place. No good. Then there are the cheekini models. VS and Hanky Panky make good ones. With soft lace edges there's not the hard elastic demarcation under yoga pants or anything else that hugs the skin. Alas they do not work under jeans. Somehow denim gains traction on the lace and rolls it up. That turns the cheekini into an effective thong. No good. Jockey for Her works under jeans but looks like hell under yoga pants. So she wears her VS or Jockey elastic edged panties under denim for work and switches to lace edged panties for yoga practice. Alas this doesn't solve all of her panty problems. For some reason, once or twice a week, in the middle of the night, her subconscious rebels at the whole panty concept and throws whatever she's wearing at the time across the bedroom. In the morning she's upset to find that she's spent the bulk of the night naked from the waist down. To make things worse, she doesn't understand why I don't see this as a high priority problem that needs solving. ;-)
The people of The United States want socialism. The people of Venezuela want toilet paper.
A recent article in "The Miami Herald" reveals that the food shortages caused by the economic collapse in Venezuela have had at least one positive side effect. Whereas before Venezuelans were having problems being overrun by herds of wild burros (donkeys), they've solved the problem by eating them. Now they have no burros or toilet paper.

Debenhams do amazing no VPL panties as well as VS. I wear these with trousers for work as I usually wear cigarette trousers, and with gym wear as no one needs to wear a thong to the gym. With black skinny jeans I never see A VPL and if I wear a dress I usually wear tights so again no issue.

In short, no VPL panties are widely available and very good at their job. So I would go for these as a visible line ruins the look of clothes.

I enjoy seeing a vpl on a girl, I try to work out what kinda pantie she is wearing. When being all dressed up for a night out with the girls or her partner then she should think about them to, I also like vbl on a girl the same is said for it as vpl.

I'm gonna second this sentiment.

I can’t think of a good tagline so this will have to do. Suggest a better one for me?

I like to see them and actually look to long sometimes.... the other day in a department store a sale girl was out front of the register leaning with her ass stuck out. She had on a nice pair of slacks, but after a good look I found the outline of her thong. It was a good day!

There is nothing nicer than seeing a panty line on a nice looking tush, regardless, of weather it be form fitting yoga pants, or a body hugging dress. Women love attention, and what is a better way to draw the attention? You wont ever see a look of disgust on his face.

I mostly wear thongs so it's not a problem. I don't like showing a VPL

For fashion and for general truisms, I am not fond of panty lines.

However, I must confess that I have thought long and hard upon what kind and color of panties on women to whom I was attracted.

I like a lot panty lines. They can be extremely hot and sexy and a form of tease your partner. And I agree, many times is better to wear something else and not show the lines.

Oh, Dear.

I think I may have to pay closer attention to "things". Now that I know others notice....

So, what if you like panty lines but what you're seeing isn't a thong? Is it still sexy?

My head still hurts from realising that there's actually a thing called Visible Bra Lines. I have somehow struggled through life without the knowledge of this term or even this phenomenon, and now I can't un-know this information. Not that I particularly care; it's not like going from a standing to prone tactical shooting position without a bra to secure my unfortunately ample breasts would be a particularly comfortable proposition.

Instructor: Get down! Hit it!
Me: *hitting it* FUCK OW FUCK OW FUCK OW *sitting back on haunches, dropping my firearm and clutching my breasts*
Instructor: *blinking in awestruck bafflement*

Yah, that'd surely enhance my times.

I thought the whole point of thongs were that they aren't seen, that they don't create panty lines? I don't know, wore one once and hated it.

My love is for ruched-back tanga cut panties, which both a) achieve the no-VPL thing and b) do not end up horribly uncomfortable as thongs are wont to do. That particular cut and style is difficult to find, though--the last time I found a manufacturer (I think it was Cacique, might have been VS) I ordered ten pair. Also love boy cut all lace panties by Hanky Panky. Expensive, but you find them on sale in the oddest places--my most recent purchase was at my hospital's gift shop, where they were on clearance at 40% off and I bought every single pair in my size.

Who knew that a hospital gift shop would carry not just panties but high-end panties? Not me, and I freaking spend a solid half of my life in the same building.

I find a VPL to be a turn-off. And conversely, the lack of one a turn on. The simple rule should be, if what you're wearing is tight enough to show a panty line, lose the knickers or wear a thong.

An example of the majesty of No VPL:

I rest my case.

I feel like you have to admire an artist like Sisqo, of the Thong Song fame. Think about it. The guy had a panty preference, and made a hit record out of it.

By the way, for all of you who now have the song stuck in your head, sorry.

(not sorry. "Thong th-thong thong thong")!

Yes, at least for me is still sexy. And of course, the most important thing is that she feels sexy, comfortable and beautiful. Because no matter how sexy and beautiful she is and looks with vpl, if she will be worried about others noticing it, then she will have a bad moment.

On other topic but similar, have you seen how many times girls wear a skirt or a dress and they keep pulling it down so the garment covers more? That is what I mean, those girls look great but they don't feel comfortable and secure. So i wonder why they keep wearing those garments?
