Why do almost all men exaggerate their penis size?

Just curious, why do men feel so insecure about this subject? A 5-6 inch penis is normal size, but most men say they are eight inches or more. Personally, I've seen two cocks that big, they were nice, but nothing exceptional to me except for a couple of extra inches to stroke. My bf is 6 1/2, thick, with a big set of balls and I think he's really nicely developed. Fills my pussy and ass and makes me orgasm almost every time we make love. He's also 6-3", muscular and handsome, smart and funny. I like those qualities as much as I do his beautiful, thick cock.

Probably because many dont like to admit to being 'normal' or 'average' in that department; they want to feel special and believe (perhaps) that they have more than most. If I am ever asked that question I dont have a problem telling the truth.

I don't bother trying. I'm average and happy with that. Why do others exaggerate? Ego, I imagine. Being "big" makes them feel special.

Hot Tip: If you want to sound big but not actually exaggerate, use cm instead of inches. (Though European girls will probably not be taken in).

Yes, the ego thing! The one guy that was eight inches, he wasn't all that great, just a nice cock to look at.

I think if almost all men exaggerate their penis size, it might be because they don't want to feel inadequate to what then becomes "the norm" - the exaggeraters then pushing up the average dick size from 5-6 inches to what is perceived by a lot of men to be a more normal 7, 8 or even 8 inches plus. I guess it is a guys way of trying to keep up with others expectations of him but in relaity it's impossible to hide the truth and the truth will always come out. Women like my extra length as I've been told I'm bigger than average that way (I'm never sure how many dicks they've had though previously to compare me against) but they always tell me that the pleasure comes from how I use it and not from its size and I totally agree with that. Sounds like your bf is a perfect fit for you Win and I'm thrilled that you have such an active, adventurous and enjoyable sex life together.

It's thick too.

Is this a true premise? How do you know this? I mean it would be pretty simple to tell if they're exaggerating. Survey? You'd have to ask the question, then measure, right? Probably at least a thousand men to be certain your premise is accurate.

I'm average. But when relaxed, it's quite small. My wife have nicknamed my penis, "Junior"!
It is primarily an ego thing, like some of you have said above. I think it's mostly from the guys who doesn't really experience sex much and is trying too hard to bed a girl, thinking the girls would enjoy a huge or long cock, very much the same way a guy is more attracted to larger bosoms on ladies.
It's just a case of 'penis envy' that is so fueled by porn scenes of overly large penises and the ladies enjoying them on the shows...ever notice how the guy(s) hold their cocks in the scenes? They are actually holding their penis extenders in place. And some of those fake penises have gobs of fake cum. A real penis cannot produce that much cum as some of the porn vids shows.

Current internet "information" and opinion seems to be that the average penis size RANGE is between 5 to 6 inches, anything outside of this being uncommon, either larger or smaller (3.5 being defined I understand as micropenis) and those with confirmed erect sizes exceeding 7.5 extremely rare (flaccid size we know being no indicator of erect size).

This pleases me, as I do reach the average range, just, being 5.25 BP on a good day, though they are fewer as time goes on. I've always considered myself small as I had a I thought relatively late and unnoticeable puberty and was somewhat bullied at school (no sympathy I could stand up for myself). However, I've had no complaints from the few ladies wiith whom I've had sex, mostly my wife it's true, possibly as my girth is slightly more than my length.

this hasn't been my experience in real life. HOWEVER, online, i must be the 'luckiest' girl in the world because i constantly encounter gentlemen eight inches and larger?

Say. Her. Name.

Honestly, I don't think I've ever told anyone what my length is and frankly I don't know. If a woman really wanted to know, there is one way to find out.

I can't do anything about my "size" and I don't think I have to. But my tongue skills, I've worked to develop.

it's shrinkage, i swear to god!

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

Why do fishermen exaggerate the size of the fish they've caught? ...Must be a guy thing.

There are no doubt various reasons. But I think one of them is that with the explosion of readily available porn, mostly what you see are big dicks. Some monstrously so. I saw one guy on Fetlife with a 14" (35.6cm for those European ladies) cock. It was just about up to his nipples. And he had balls like tennis balls (though not bright yellow). Who the hell can physically accommodate that? I believe lots make a good try though.

Anyway, I digress...

Yeah - how often do you see pictures put up on the chat room picture rooms of 5-6 inches, or less , cocks. Not very often.. So I think some men play up to what they feel is expected.

And let's be honest, is it any less dishonest than a woman wearing a wonderbra? I don't believe so.

When I heard a guy talk about his size I always reminded him it was not the size of the tool that did the job - it was the way it was used.

Ask yourself how you selected your profile pictures and you'll be pretty damn close to a conclusive answer.

Sure thing, women themselves are absolutely irreproachable when it comes to bullshitting others.

Can't say it's ever been an issue offline - either I'm talking to people who don't care, or I'm talking to a woman who might care, in which case I'm likely hoping that she'll find out soon enough.

But online is a different world. I know that most men lie, so I assume that women will take that into account. So I usually add a couple of inches on and say that I actually have 12 inches...

I think I should start exaggerating the depth of my vagina.

I don't understand why men lie about their penis size? Particularly if they posted their picture. Unless a woman has indicated they want, love and need a BBC or WBC we expect a man to have an average sized cock. This is all cyber talk here and reading erotica, we can imagine every detail that we desire. No need to lie. I've chatted with a few people whose cocks grown and shrink often apparently. I just giggle and accept them as they are because I like them.

I know exactly why. It's because of porn. Porn has made men feel insecure. Most women in porn experience internal injuries from men that are very large, but it is their profession. Most women are satisfied from as little as 3 inches, due to the way the vagina is designed. It's a matter of positions. I'm 5 inches myself on a good day, and I know how to get bigger with physical exercise. Bodybuilding also helps tremendously with body image issues.

I lost my virginity recently, and I realized that not only was the sex satisfying for both of us, but that giving oral sex, and fingering, were very satisfactory for her. And that is literally just the basics that we got to, without sex toys, swings, and other ways to mix things up. I'll get bigger, but I refuse to lie about size, and I refuse to feel bad about the size that God blessed me with, even if I'm a 6'3" black guy, who looks like a football player. I'll feel bad for guys with actual micro-penis disorder, or even erectile dysfunction, before feeling bad for myself. I love my sensitive cock, and it's doing great for me.

I'm happy smile

Almost all men? What is that, 9 out of 10? I'm not sure where you get that from. In real life, I've never told or been asked about the size of my penis by anyone. By the time that question COULD be asked, an intimate viewing is usually imminent. On hookup sites, I make it readily available for review. It's actually a click, a scroll down and a second click from this page.

Who is it that's doing all this asking? Do you ask every guy you meet? It seems a little clinical to me.

I checked it out, and I am surprised that the average is around five and a half. Fortunately, I've only run into a couple of those.

You're a gay guy. Women don't have a prostate. Their anatomy is different. You need a bigger dick than a woman, whose G-spot and clit are readily accessible.

That being said, I think bigger is better. Looks better and feels better. I hope the jelquing and HGH works. I take them irregardless and do the jelquing also to make my penis fitter, and better looking. Sex is just easier and more convenient and comfortable with a bigger dick, it seems. It becomes less clinical.

I'm left wondering just WHAT in my post are you responding to? Your reply is a complete non sequitur, having literally nothing to do with and not in any way a logical response to my words.

In layman's terms, what in the hell are you talking about? But, really, thanks for the tip that women don't have a prostrate, and that their anatomy is different (who knew?) lmfao.

By the way, jelqing was spelled wrong, there is no such word as irregardless, and I am a bisexual man, not a 'gay guy'. If you are unclear that there is a difference, Google can be a handy device for the uninformed and/or those who presume to haphazardly label others.

I do wish you the best success with your penis enlarging procedures.

Insecurity, wishful thinking, embarrassment, and a desire for praise all seem like common reasons to me. I try to be honest about it whenever asked and even had an ex girlfriend grab a ruler for measurements with which to report back to her friends. You can say that you've got a foot long but unless you do you are only setting the girl up for disappointment, even if you are still packing compared to the average.

In college I once knew a guy that was roommates with my coworker. He was very small and all of his guy friends knew about it. At parties it would come up and they would poke fun of him in front of the girls. Funny thing is that pretty much every girl would think "wow, he must be HUGE and is just humble about it" and end up putting the moves on him. Later on, after some serious foreplay, they would see that he was telling the truth and most would figure "well, he didn't lie" and end up sleeping with him still. Dude actually got laid more than your average guy just for being up front, even with tiny equipment.

I can’t think of a good tagline so this will have to do. Suggest a better one for me?
