I read that this affects some women, not just during sex but also when self pleasuring were they are in total control. Usually, there's no problem, but clits can be unpredictable. Some girls can't actually expose their clits because their hood is too tight, so they rub them through the protective hood. Mine slides open, so it can become overstimulated sometimes after a huge orgasm, or when a pair of tight jeans have been rubbing me all day. You are always so informative Beth. I'd never even though of the hood not exposing the clit enough in this case, but surly that would be more about not being able to be touched Enough, rather than being over sensitive. Hence they need to "allow" more direct touch rather than using panties to create a slight barrier of touch. (BTW i dont think a lot of guys think about opening the hood, they just take it that the "bean" IS the exposed clit).
You say your hood slides open usually after a huge orgasm, does that mean that wetness and arousal prompts the clit to become more exposed, hence more sensitive ?. I totally get what you say about overdoing it, when it feels so great then a little soreness can only Add to the afterglow!.

No, I said it's most sensitive after a huge orgasm. It slides open anytime someone's finger or tongue tugs it up! But arousal always makes a clit swell and present more prominently. Mine just happens to be more prominent to begin with!

I used to have difficulty achieving orgasm when masturbating and apart from the mental barrier of not being able to relax and just let it happen, I also suspect this is part of the reason why. If I am very sensitive or very wet I still occasionally struggle to reach orgasm and may then use some version of a barrier to reduce the sensitivity somewhat, or just chill for a while and let it settle, or like Bethany suggested, less direct stimulation (so just above the clit and the hood) can be very effective.
