I never know whether anybody reads these “self-promotional” threads. But on the off-chance that some people do, I’ve started this one.

I’ve written a lot of stories, some better than others. They sit around on my profile page for a while, but then as I write more they drop off the bottom and into the well of old stories. Unless you’re interested enough to click on the link to find them all, they tend to languish there, unseen and unloved.

So I thought I’d use this place to say a few things about each of them, and maybe if you haven’t read them, you might be tempted to have a look. Looking back over them now, it’s tempting to rewrite sections, because my style has changed a bit over the last few years. But I’ve tried to resist the temptation, because that’s who I was when I was writing them, and have simply corrected some punctuation errors and typos that got missed first time round.

Just who is this NaughtyAnnie person anyway?

Those of you who’ve been around for a while don’t need to read this bit, but newcomers to Lush might be vaguely interested.

The real-life me started to post stories on Lush in 2011 while she was still at University, and carried on after she left and got a job. I’ve always enjoyed writing, but writing erotica really took over when I was having a bit of a personal crisis at University, and it became a welcome release. I decided I didn’t have the skills to make it as a writer of “serious fiction”, but I discovered I could write filthy stories that people liked to read, and that turned them on. And I’m very happy with that.

A lot of my stories (in particular the early ones) are written in the first person, about a fictional “Annie”, who while sharing many of my interests and characteristics, has had a rather more interesting and varied sex life than the real me! Like me, she lives in London, is a bit of an exhibitionist, has had sexual relationships with both men and women, and has a bit of a kink for water-sports (in the sexual sense). But most of the stories about “Annie” are fictional (though there is sometimes a grain of truth in them), and are just the real me fantasising about things that I like. A few of them are true, however, and I’ll say which ones as and when I get to them in this thread.

And more recently, I’ve started to write more stories that aren’t first-person narratives, which explore sexual practices that don’t fit with the persona of “fictional Annie” – at least one gay male story, for example, which wouldn’t work at all! When I started, I never thought I’d be able to write in some of the lush categories, like “Cross-dressing” and “cuckold”, but branching out has been fun.

This was the story that brought me to Lush in the first place. I’d written it for my own pleasure, but then decided I wanted to find somewhere online to post it, and hopefully get some feedback from readers on whether they liked it or not. I looked at a couple of places, and I think I just liked the way the stories on Lush were laid out. So I registered, and submitted the story.

It’s not the first erotic story I wrote by a long way. Most of the earlier stuff isn’t really up to scratch for Lush without some major re-writing, which I might get round to one day. The only piece that’s really any good is a pretty filthy piece of “fan fiction” that I wrote about the TV show “iCarly” that I used to love as a kid, but Lush doesn’t allow that sort of thing, so bad luck!

It was originally published under the title “A Walk, a Swim, and a Fuck.” That pretty much describes what it’s about, and at the time I thought getting the word “fuck” into the title would make it more likely to be read. For a new writer that’s probably true, but a couple of years ago I decided “Wet Mountain” was a better title. If you want to know why, you’d better read the story.

It’s also the only one of my stories where I’ve rewritten parts of it to improve the structure and characterisation. Originally, it was written in the first person, but the “Annie” in the story, while being like me in many ways, had a different “back-story” to the “Annie” persona I now use.

It’s not had a huge number of hits, but it was my first story, so maybe that’s not surprising. It had to make it by itself.

This was the first story that I wrote specifically for Lush. After having had some good feedback for my first story, “Wet Mountain”, I decided I wanted to write another one and see how that did. And after writing a “straight” story, I wanted to try my hand at a lesbian one.

Following the time-honoured formula of “write about what you know”, it is set in the student flats of an unnamed university, very much like the ones I was living in at the time. Although it features two girl students having sex, at the time my experience of lesbian sex was fairly small, and restricted to little more than a few girlish experiments. But I had a vivid imagination.

The “Annie” in this story is a rather more sexually confident version of me – or at least as I was six years ago, when this was written. In some ways, I was more like the Louise character, but I wanted to write a story in which I took the lead – trying to more assertive in my own life, I suppose. And maybe, looking back, I just wanted to be seduced by someone confident and sexy like the “story Annie”, who would show me what two girls can get up to together.

Would I write it the same way now? No, probably not. Although it’s got some of the same characteristics of my later stories, like the use of humour to set the scene, I’m not sure if the steam-of-conscious style, interspersed with personal asides, really works. It seems a bit affected to me now, but that was how I wrote it at the time, so it can stay like that.

[Spoilers] If the story can be said to have any special features, it would have to be the “squirting” at the end. I’m pretty sure this is only there because I’d seen it on some internet porn, and it looked like a fun thing to introduce in a story. The actual focus of the story is all about the slow seduction and undressing, but I thought it needed a more interesting climax, and the squirting was supposed to do that.

One final obscure fact. The title is an oblique reference to a novel by the Irish writer Flann O’Brien, called “At Swim-Two-Birds”, which I’d recently been reading (he gets a name-check in the story, too). I don’t suppose anyone else got it, but the title’s okay anyway, so I’m not going to change it now.

There’s not a great deal to say about these two parallel stories/poems, although I guess it’s unusual to have two versions of the same piece, written as straight/lesbian alternatives.

I didn’t start off meaning to write two versions, but I think I couldn’t decide whether to make it a straight or lesbian piece, and then the idea came to write it twice.

I didn’t actually submit them to the “poetry” section of Lush, because I didn’t think of them like that. They were just pieces of erotic prose laid out in a loose way on the page. But the moderator moved them into the “love poems” section, and I think that’s probably the right place for them, since there’s no real narrative, just an attempt to describe sex in a fairly soft-focus, vanilla sort of way.

On the other hand, one of the writers I most admire, CeliaIsAliena, commented (on the Girls version):

"An impressive piece of narrative erotic poetry! It begins so quietly, I didn't anticipate the build-up in the imagery and passion as the poem proceeds. This was my first story to be set on the nudist beach at Brighton – others (so far) being “Where’s My Clothes?” and “Inappropriate Behaviour”.

For non-UK readers, the seaside town of Brighton is on the south coast only 50 miles from London. Among its many attractions is the UK’s first official nudist beach – established in 1980. The first time I went there was in circumstances similar to this story, although sadly nothing this exciting happened. It was someone’s birthday, so four of us went down to Brighton for the day, and someone (okay, me) persuaded the group to go bare. It was great, and I’ve been down several times since. If I actually lived in Brighton, I’d be there every day. The characters of the girls are based roughly on people I knew at the time, although their names are taken from people I was particularly friendly with on Lush at the time.

I think the story fits well with the structure that I often like to use, of building up the sexual tension with some erotic detail (the girls undressing and playing in the sea) before progressing to the “meat” of the story – the seduction and sex. A lot of my stories are definitely written with the thought that whoever is reading them will be masturbating, and hopefully climaxing at the same time as the characters. So it seems important to introduce some general sexual undertones from quite early on, to get the reader steadily aroused (wet or erect as appropriate), then working up to a mutual climax.

I’m less keen these days on the first-person present tense narrative, but it does make for an immediate connection with the reader. I do sometimes start writing a story in one narrative tense, then change my mind halfway through (or even at the end) and have to change it all. Sometimes I don’t know until I’ve written a lot which seems right for the particular story. I’ve got a couple that have been through various rewrites.

[Spoilers] The thing that still niggles me slightly about the story is the “cheat” I use to get the girls into the hotel room at the end. I’ve never seen a hotel key-card that has the room number actually printed on it (or if it did you’d need an access code as well, otherwise it would be far too easy to break in). But I wanted Annie and Lizzie to have somewhere to finish off, and things like a public toilet or shop changing-room didn’t feel right. So it’s a narrative cheat. I usually really try to avoid this sort of thing – I want readers to feel that my stories could actually happen, however improbable the actual events.

This story actually came about as a result of an exciting session of chatting with someone on Lush. As I remember it, we’d started off talking about dares and exhibitionism and suchlike, and we’d ended up daring each other to do things – I know at one point I ended up standing in the window with no clothes on! She then asked me if I’d write a story that involved the two of us doing dares, and this is what I eventually came up with.

The idea of dare games is something that lends itself wonderfully to stories about young people experimenting with sex. I thought of two schoolgirls in the park, daring each other to take off more items of clothing, and the story built naturally from there. I made it clear that they were both over 16, of course.

It has some of my favourite subjects - exhibitionism and voyeurism, plus the great outdoors. There’s some light-hearted dialogue to set the scene, progressing via some increasingly naughty sexual by-play, up to the climactic scene with the ice lolly (which I still think is one of my favourite story incidents).

I’m usually not very good at writing to order, and it took me a while to think up a “dare game” scenario that I felt I wanted to develop into a full story. I wanted something a bit different from the usual “sleep-over, spin-the-bottle” type of story, so an outdoor setting seemed a good idea, but it took some time to work it through.

In fact, for a long time it was my most-read story by a long way, and was my first to notch up enough hits (30,000) to become a “Famous Story”. I think I pointed out in an old thread that this was quite an achievement for a story that wasn’t about incest (always the most popular category on “Lush”, until the subject was banned - until recently). But having the magic word “schoolgirl” in the title probably helped. Oddly, though, it was eventually overhauled by another story (“Exposing Myself”) which became my first “Legendary Story” with over 100,000 hits. But the schoolgirls got there in the end.

I seem to know too many people called Sarah – both in Lush and real life! The person whose chat inspired the story was called Sarah, and at the time I had a real-life girl friend called Sarah too. Some people assumed that my real-life Sarah was the same as the one in this story, but that’s just a coincidence. But all my Sarah friends are welcome to read themselves into the story as much as they like.

[Spoilers] I did try the ice-lolly thing out at home first, in the interests of research, using a blackcurrant Ribena lolly, to see what it felt like. Bloody cold and very messy, is the answer. It tasted interesting afterwards though – what was left of it, anyway.

"My Sex-Packed Holiday" - NOTE FOR READERS

Some people have noticed that two of the chapters of the epic "My Sex-Packed Holiday" series - Chapters 2 and 6 - now have alternative versions, in which Matt appears as my brother, rather than just a family friend.

These are versions that were part of the series as originally written in 2013-14. The original series all had an overarching thread, charting a growing incestuous relationship between my brother and I. But in 2014 the Lush Team decided that "Incest" stories would no longer be allowed, and all such stories were taken offline overnight. 

Some of the individual chapters in my series only had incest as a side theme, and those I managed to revise online. But Chapters 2 and 6 had it as a major part of the story, so I had to resubmit them as completely new stories. 

And that was that, I thought. But then Lush had a change of heart, and "Incest Fantasies" were allowed again. Most of the old incest stories were just put back online again by Admin, including my two old ones. So now there are two versions of Chapters 2 and 6. 

What I eventually plan to do is resubmit all the original chapters to the "Incest" category as well, so there are two versions; one or those who like incest, and another for those who don't. But in the meantime, chapters 2 and 6 exist as "teasers" for those of you who like this sort of thing. 

Personally, I like this version best - the element of taboo is much stronger, making a better story. See what you think.

My latest submission is a short poem - a sonnet in fact. It's very different from my usual Lush pieces, and comes from quite a dark place.

I wrote several of these "Broken Sonnets" at a time when I was feeling quite low, and they certainly reflect my state of mind at the time. Some of them I don't think I'll ever feel able to put online, and even this one I wavered over. But here it is, and hopefully it will resonate with some of you.

Incidentally, it is a traditional "sonnet" in that it rhymes and has 14 lines. But the scansion and syntax are deliberately uneven (hence the "broken" in the title) to reflect the subject matter.

But there is good news for those of you who prefer my usual dirty stuff. Chapter Three of the alternative "Sex-Packed Holiday" series is nearly ready to go online.

It's funny how a story sometimes just happens. The other day, I was travelling on a hot, sticky, crowded tube train when I had the idea for a mucky little story. I got home, sat down, and wrote it. And here it is:

It's a piece of Flash Fiction (859 words) called "The Trouble With Erections", which pretty much describes the plot (if you can call it that).

Some people have asked how much of it is true. Well, nothing exactly like this has ever happened to me (or anyone I know) but I have more than once found myself squashed up against a guy on a packed tube who has been sporting an erection. There's no mistaking that hard bulge pressing against your bum or thigh. My male friends have assured me that in 90% of cases this is an entirely involuntary reaction, caused by a combination of friction and an active imagination. Whenever it's happened to me, either I or the man has pulled away as quickly as possible, but I couldn't help imagining what would happen if the woman decided to have some fun.

I'm surprised and pleased that it's been online for only 12 hours or so and already 32 people have scored it, and 23 have posted comments. So maybe it has tickled the fancy of quite a few people! Thank you all!
