Interview with Poppet
I have many authors I see as my favorite. I suppose it would be hard to choose just one. Some of my top ones would be: Stephen King, Nicholas Sparks, C.S Lewis, Danielle Steel, Dean Koontz, Dave Pelzer, and V.C Andrews. Of course then there is Lush, and we can’t forget them. I’d have to say that, GingerKitty, Mazza Buz, Milik_The_Red and Sprite have to be some of my top favorites.
She’s Come Undone, The Boy Called it (Series), The Giving Tree, Peter Pan, Lady and the Tramp, The Other Boleyn Girl, The Hunger Games (Series).
The book that changed my life
She’s Come Undone changed my life, because it hit really close to home for me. It touched me like no other book has ever. I think everyone should read it at least once. I’ve read it many times.
What are you currently reading
I just bought a Nexus not too long ago, and I’ve got the Kindle app on there. I’ve been reading endless books through it. It’s mostly Erotica, so I can improve my skills as a writer.
I'm inspired by...
I’m inspired by myself, I write what I know. A lot of my work is from things I have either done, or want to do. I don’t want to write things I don’t know completely, though I have begun to open up to the idea. I let my mind wonder and see what wicked tales I can spin into a story.
I started writing because...
I use to role play a lot on another site, and it always kept me on my toes. It was a lot of fun, and still is. I use to make a lot of “Bio’s” for my characters I’d make up. I have always been a sexual being, and always embraced it. I use to write teasing e-mails to someone I knew and he said I had talent and should work on getting better. I think I’ve done just that.
Aside from writing, what occupies your time
I love music, and can’t get enough of it. It’s always on. Though really outside of writing, films are my thing. I’ve been addicted to them for years. I own over three hundred and proud to tell people. I do hope to one day have my own theater. I think that would be so wicked! My time spent with my love ones is very important to me also. I guess though right now it’s mostly writing. My mind is spilling with ideas all the time, and wants to be set free.
How did you get in to writing erotica?
Between what I said above about the e-mails, and to be blunt when I use to cyber I always wanted to improve. It’s funny because I don’t even like to do “normal” cyber anymore. I guess because I can write stories now, I don’t need cyber. I’m grateful that I was able to improve so much.
What's your favourite writing genre and why
That’s easy. It is BDSM. Why, because it’s what I know best. I think you can set your mind free, and let it go wild with BDSM. It’s endless with the things you can write about. There is such a wonderful set up, the teasing, the begging, and the loyal submissive, the trusting Dominate. I do like many other genres though, exhibitionism, hardcore, oral, and reluctance. I think because they can closely relate best to BDSM, at least in my mind.
Where do you get your creative juice/story ideas from?
I can get ideas off the simplest things. I can simply be chatting to someone and it dawn on me, when I am playing with my playmate. It just seems to be my mind is set on perverted all the time, and can turn anything sexual, which leads to lots of stories.
What are your turn-ons?
I love to hear a man moan. I think that is my biggest turn on. I also love my nipples toyed with, and oral is always a plus! I love the idea of controlling my submissive and sending him over the edge, knowing I hold all the power of what is to come. And ACCENTS! Yum!
What are your turn-offs?
My biggest turn offs are, well being “cummed on” is nasty to me. That won’t ever happen. I don’t see the point. I very much dislike the word cunt. I also am not a fan of anal, but I’m coming around a bit on that, at least to some extent.
Music I frequently listen to
Bullet For My Valentine, Avenged Sevenfold, Five Finger Death Punch, HIM, Hollywood undead, Hinder, Obsidia, Rihanna, ShineDown, Saving Able, Theory of a Deadman, Seether, Marilyn Manson, P!NK, Three Days Grace.
My favorite work of art is
I love dark art. There is something about it that is so pretty, even if it’s dark. It just so works, and speaks to me.
My all time favorite is Shawshank Redemption, Con Air, Harry Potter, Cider House Rules, Cruel Intentions, Die Hard, Hound Dog, Interview with a Vampire, Man in the Iron Mask, P.S I love you, Where the Heart is.
Which websites do you regularly visit
Lush, Yahoo, Google, and Amazon.
What would be a perfect weekend for you
It would involve just him and me, and going away. I’d want to drive some place so far it would take hours. So we were in the car, just he and I. We would spend the best time just talking, and listening to music, before we got to a secluded cabin, by a lake. We would have BBQ’s, make love, try new things, go swimming, and do all the things you can when you get out of the city.
Ideal holiday destination
The United Kingdom, or a cruise.
At home I cook
I cook everything, I love to cook! I am a big fan of steak, and lasagna. I like making both of them. I also love making homemade Chinese.
The hardest thing I've ever done was
A few years ago my sister was in a bad way and needed help. I ended up taking my niece who was just five at the time; she came and lived with me. She had a “father” but he wasn’t the “father figure” you’d want to see your niece raised by. So I didn’t tell him what was going on with my sister. I had my niece for almost four months before the “father” found out. He took her and has had her since. We see her of course, but I still think and know she would have been better off raised by me.
Most surprising thing people could find out about you
That even though I am hyper, full of life, and seem to be open here I am a very shy, timid person. I have an anxiety disorder and have a hard time controlling it. It’s mostly due to people, and being around them. It’s so bad that I can’t work. I think it’s one of the most embarrassing things about me, but I don’t lie about it. I don’t usually openly tell anyone, I beat around the bush but I tell close friends. I survive though, and that is what matters. No one takes care of me, but me.
I don't like talking about...
Pretty much what I said above, because people like to judge people and it can be hurtful. I’ve heard some horrible things said about me because people don’t understand.
What I find amusing is
I’m pretty easily amused. I think typos are amazing! Well, not mine but others. They make me giggle. I also am amused by people’s accents; I can listen to them all day.
What I don't find amusing is
Mean people. I hate when I see people bully others. It’s horrible. I also hate when people don’t get respect when they should. I think everyone should get respect, and not enough people do. I think this world would be a lot better if people were nicer.
If I wasn't me I'd like to be
Sometimes I do wish I wasn’t me, I don’t however know who I’d want to be. No one as in a person, but I know I wish I could be someone with more confidence, and not have to worry about my fears the way I do.
I often wonder...
I often wonder what I’d be like to have lived somewhere else. Where I grew up isn’t bad, but I’d like to know what it would have been like if it had been someplace else. Would I still be the same Poppet everyone knows me as now, or would I be someone completely different. I don’t think I’d be the same, at least not completely, I am not sure though.
