Favorite Books:
Just a few of my favourites at the moment :

"Idiot America: How Stupidity Became a Virtue in the Land of the Free" By Dr. Charles P. Pierce...- You think all these dumb Dad's on US sitcoms that hate books and reading don't have an effect? Read this!!!

"Generation Kill" by Evan Wright... just see what George Junior did to the young soldiers of his nation with his idiotic war.

"Time Enough for Love" and "To Sail Beyond the Sunset' by Robert A. Heinlein... pretty hot for science fiction!!
Favorite Authors:
Favourites of all time... read any of their books and you will have a good read!

Mordecai Richler, Michael Ondaatje (Philip Michael Ondaatje), Robertson Davies, Margaret Atwood, and (gulp) Stephen King and John Grisham (those last two are my guilty pleasures).

Oh... and out of pure respect for what he created... the cartoonist Bill Watterson. Genius.
Favorite Movies:
"Before Sunrise" and "Before Sunset"... so romantic and sexy.. and "Before Sunset" is widely acknowledged to have the best last line of dialogue of any sequel ever made. (As Opposed to the last line of dialogue in a movie (not a sequel) which goes to Casablanca).

"Train on the Brain" documentary directed by Alison Murray. Gritty (literally) but a really interesting study of free spirits.

"Inglorious Basterds" by Quentin Tarantino- yes a WW II fairy tale but well crafted (aside from mistakes - but heck- it's a fairy tale)... Just purely entertaining!

"The Unbearable Lightness of Being" based on the novel by Milan Kundera. I loved the novel, but the movie had me in a ball of emotion from beginning to end!
Favorite Music:
Ok... To broad to cover favourites of all time.. so some, but mostly favourites right now...

"Beautiful Day" by U2 - love the song, and played whenever Daniel Alfredsson scores a goal!

"Bittersweet Symphony" by The Verve - too bad that Mick Jagger and Keith Richards stole the royalties to this one... Beautiful song and The Verve and Richard Ashcroft deserve recognition.

"Crown Imperial" by composer William Walton. Makes you feel like standing up straight when you hear it!

"Dry The Rain" by The Beta Band... watch the movie "High Fidelity" and that will tell you why! hee hee.

"Edge of the Ocean" by Ivy... blissful!

"Firestarter" - by Prodigy... how can you not get worked up when you listen to this?

"I'm Awesome" - by Spose - awwwh! I just want to hug this guy!!!

"It's Such a Good Night" - by the Charlie Steinmann Orchestra - just because of the Meth dealing montage on Breaking Bad! Absolutely brilliant pairing of music with subject matter... I"m sure it's on YouTube somewhere.

"Like a G-6" - by Far East Movement - how can you not dance to this?

"Purple" by Gus Gus... Electronica.. I don't care which version you find! This makes me go into a trance of ecstatic dance!!!

"Tom's Diner" by Suzanne Vega - well how can you go wrong listening to the song that the MP3 file format was perfected with, and was based on the diner shown on Seinfeld? Plus that voice! Wow!

"Tomorrow Never Knows" by the Beatles... yeah ok,. after it was the closing song of that episode of Mad Men I could not resist it... but if you listen to this one, compare it immediately with "Let Forever Be" by the Chemical Brothers.

"White Lines (Don't Do It) - by GrandMaster Flash... great song... Google Craig Ferguson doing this as a musical opening for the "Late Late Show" if you want a laugh!

"Mixtress" - by DJ Baby Anne - all I can say is HOT! No matter which version you find!

"Where the Streets Have No Name" - by U2 - treat yourself and watch the video on YouTube!

That's enough for now I guess!
