Topic What is Your Deepest Fear?
Posted 22 Jul 2017 06:07

Dementia, but not quite as mentioned above. Read "Brownwood: A Long Goodbye" by DFWBeast on Literotica. To summarize, a man regularly visits his wife in a nursing home. She's the one with dementia. She has only patchy memories of ever having been married to him, and those memories come to her less and less often. So on his visits he gets to see her interacting with her "boyfriend" of the moment. Over and over and over.

That would surely rip anyone's heart out.

Good lord... Why the fuck would anyone write something like that for an "erotica" site? Or any site/audience really... That's why Literotica is a cesspool for subhuman retards.

Snakes. Like I wish my deepest fear was profound but man I have a phobia.

You live where there are big fucking hippos snapping fuckers in half and you choose snakes to be scared of?

Had a long thought about which pic that must have been, but now I know: the crying kid. A meme with a child actor. Yep, that one slipped through. Changed the image to a link to the pic now. Thanks for pointing it out. The OP of that thread has an image of baby Charlie Gard btw.

I don't take offense to it. I'm just saying that rule is only ever enforced when an internet litigious lil bitch runs to their favorite mod to report a member's post.

Not trying to be awkward.... but the girl in the picture, in the opening post, is 12 years old. I think that makes the whole situation even more horrible.
Could a different pic be inserted?.

The mods themselves post and quote and react to pictures of children all the time. You know very well that complaining about a picture with a kid in it is a tactic used by weak minded fools who can't keep up mentally so they try to find some technicality to try and get a poster in trouble. It has been used with me many times to get one of my posts removed. Just the other day a mod (a forum mod even), Dani I think it was, quoted a picture of a kid posted by noll and just continued on normally. I'm honestly surprised one of the lil bitches on lush didn't attempt to try and get it removed to spite noll. Or maybe they did and lush has stopped catering to that nonsense. That would be nice. But anyway, stop with this petty waste of time bullshit and grow up.

Agreed, but there is also an ethical side to the issue. Killing living creatures for fun is unethical.

So is 95% of everything humans do.

But that aside, the sad thing of trophy hunting is that hunters prefer to take out the strongest, most magnificent male animals, the ones who'd normally be the ones to survive and mate in nature.

You're safe then.

Even breathing contributes to the amount of greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere.

Hint hint...

We cannot change the fact, that we have an impact on the earth, its resources and its ecosystems. What we can do, is make every effort we can to minimise that impact.

I think that is the point the pro big game hunters are making.

see, that's the thing - he's not just providing a voice, he's giving a complete performance, including all of Ceasar's movements like walking, running, climbing like a chimp. if you stripped away the special effects, you'd get the exact same thing, just without the fur.

All the other chimps were moving like chimps too though. Those are all motion capture as well. Just saying animators can add a tear, or embellish facial expressions or even the body movements. Motion capture is a guide to make animation easier.

It's like digitally altering actor's faces to make them appear more emotional in a scene. That doesn't deserve best actor.

I probably have one of the better records when it comes to comps and it's still not "worth" it money wise.

The one time it was worth it was when a new girlfriend discovered it and read it and the first thing she said was "...you want to put it in my butt." So that made that easy. That was the only time I was like wow this writing nonsense worked out.

I did look. Most of the products I use contain sunflower oil. There are some products that contain palm oil, but they are from manufacturers that are RSPO certified and are consistently working towards sustainable production.

Not all palm oil production is bad. I am aware of what I buy and consume. And what goes for palm oil, goes for other products as well.

Whatever you say patoki, sounds like a load of bullshit. Remember all the gasoline that was used to ship all the products you consume around to the stores you bought them in even though you claim to never drive or ride in cars or buses. LOL

"consistently working towards sustainable production" sure they are. And I'm sure that RSPO certification can't be purchased under the table or anything like that. Because you know, companies that clear out rainforests aren't shady or anything.

Where did I say that? I don't own a car. And to quote myself:
" We should strive for ways to prevent waste and to minimise the impact on our environment and for the most animal friendly ways to raise, keep and kill our food sources. ".

Just saying it's a stupid argument when you have a pantry, fridge and bathroom full of products containing palm oil. Endangered species like Rhinos, tigers and orangutans, even indigenous humans, have their habitants destroyed to make way for palm oil plantations... go read the labels on your products. Everything has palm oil in it.

It just sounds stupid objecting to big game hunting when you're doing something worse. Especially when evidently big game hunting in Africa is sustainable.

Topic African Big Game Trophy Hunting
Posted 19 Jul 2017 00:14

So basically, in your eyes the money it brings in justifies the practice. The production of animal products for food supports infinitely more communities and people than trophy hunting ever will. Yet you condemned that earlier in this thread, because of what's wasted in the process and because those animals are sentient beings. Those lions, leopards, rhinos and elephants and all those other animals are sentient beings too, and they have inedible and unusable parts too. Killing them for fun and trophy is a disgusting practice.

If the end justifies the means, then bear bile farming, bull fighting, egg production in battery cages, raising calves in veal cages and keeping orcas in a theme park that also rescues wounded and orphaned sea mammals are justifiable too. Yet all of those are illegal by now, and justly so. And so should trophy hunting be.

Do you have any idea how many products you use that are directly responsible for massive clearing of rain forests? Or how many products you use are made by slave and child labor? Do you drive a car? Do you know how many times oil has destroyed ecosystems?

What makes that somehow better in your eyes?

I think that mink kill for fun. Are they not recognised as the only species, apart from peeps, who murder?.

angel7

Chimpanzees and baboons kill for purposes other than food. They kill their own species.

Dolphins rape each other as well. Like male on male gang rape. It's not even gay though for the pitcher, it's considered macho in dolphin culture.

That's a bit drastic and it very much goes against our survival instincts. Yes, we live on this planet, and we have to kill living beings to go on living. That's how we and every other animal on this planet has evolved. We humans however, are the only species that really can choose what to kill and how to kill it. There is much room for improvement there. We're also (as far as I know) the only species on this planet that kills living beings just for fun. I believe abolishing that would be a positive step.

What makes us different than every other species on the planet is what is the most telling about why we don't really belong here. We aren't just an apex apex predator (meant the double apex, because we are the only ones that can kill apex predators). We are actually pretty pathetic in a fair fight even against a rat. Without tools or armor we are one of the most pathetic species to ever have lived on earth. A rat can get a nibble in and we'd die eventually.

In reality... If we were like every other animal on this planet there would only be a few thousand of us like the other great apes and we could survive with minimal tools and housing. We wouldn't be building freeways and monstrous dams for fucks sake.

The truth is humans were not meant to live on earth and we will eventually kill everything on this planet. Probably not before we find a way to rocket out to another planet so we can start the whole cycle of death once again. Just like a virus.

spot on review - just got back, and yeah, its weird using the word "humanity" when talking about the apes, but it's fitting - the film also didn't get lazy and go with what you expected - there were a lot of touches, both big and little, that took me by surprise (i won't list them - some are major spoilers). all in all one of the best movies of the year, and yeah, bite it, Oscars, and give Serkis at least a nomination for an incredibly nuanced performance as Ceasar.

I feel the nominations should be special effects, best picture and score. Even though serkis does a good job I still dont think motion capture should win a best actor since the animators are the real actors there (scratch that... "real" was not the right word, but they are 50% of the acting there.). If the CGI was shit no one would be thinking serkis should get a best actor. That said, a lifetime achievement award, eventually, I am all for. If he keeps it up that is.

It is a proven fact that the amount of calories per kilo to raise one cow could grow crops that would feed considerably more people. On average, animal protein production in the U.S. requires 28 kilocalories (kcal) for every kcal of protein produced for human consumption. Beef and lamb are the most costly, in terms of fossil fuel energy input to protein output at 54:1 and 50:1, respectively. Turkey and chicken meat production are the most efficient (13:1 and 4:1, respectively). Grain production, on average, requires 3.3 kcal of fossil fuel for every kcal of protein produced.

In addition, U.S. agriculture accounts for 87 percent of all the fresh water consumed each year. Livestock directly use only 1.3 percent of that water. But when the water required for forage and grain production is included, livestock's water usage rises dramatically. Every kilogram of beef produced takes 100,000 liters of water. Some 900 liters of water go into producing a kilogram of wheat. Potatoes are even less "thirsty," at 500 liters per kilogram.
http://news.cornell.edu/stories/1997/08/us-could-feed-800-million-people-grain-livestock-eat

Very interesting info, thanks.

There are a million variables to consider though... It's endless. How many wheat products like say sliced bread are used in conjunction with meat and cheese? Or made into cereal and eaten with milk? It really is all a wash.

No, that's not what I'm saying. I'm saying that those hunters kill with the intention to get a thrill and a trophy and couldn't care less about what happens to the carcass afterwards. The food is merely a by-product, if it's eaten at all.

The hunter who killed that lion, an American dentist named Walter Palmer, can be found with numerous pictures of big game kills, including an American black bear, which he illegally killed ( source ). The man has no conscience when it comes to wildlife.

Sources about that lion kill?
Try these:

https://www.nytimes.com/2015/07/29/world/africa/american-hunter-is-accused-of-killing-cecil-a-beloved-lion-in-zimbabwe.html
http://inhabitat.com/cecil-the-lions-killer-named-by-zimbabwe-conservationists/
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killing_of_Cecil_the_lion#Books_and_other_media

I imagine you talking to your plants about this. That's funny to me.

Look, it's like giant redwoods. Every once in a while someone chops one down... And it's awful. Doesn't mean that chopping down trees isn't a necessary evil. Like it or hate the virus that is the human race lives on the planet earth. The only right think to do to save the planet would be to kill every human on earth. We are nothing but detrimental to this planet.

Fair enough, back to google for a few seconds. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edible_protein_per_unit_area_of_land suggests soybeans give 263 lb/acre of protein "fully digested by humans", while beef gives 15.6. Quite possibly outdated numbers, but still a very big gap. And apparently hemp is even better than soybeans...for protein content, I mean, not just for other purposes. Regaeman Man

Consumption of frankensoy is not very recommended by anyone. Google that too. And let me know what the best way to consume hemp protein is? Sorry, I'm ignorant.
