Topic New Healthy Menus Lead to Deficit of $700,000
Posted 09 Feb 2012 01:54

My boarding school had horrible food. We had the option of fried potatoes three times a day with some sort of fried meat. Gross. I do not get how pizza and French fries is a meal. They tried to go healthy once but that just meant horribly gross boiled cabbage. They went from one extreme to the other.

It doesn't have to be super healthy kid-unfriendly food. Then they won't eat it. But something like lasagne with veg or stew with veg or something like that. Tasty and not all that unhealthy. My friends brother goes to a school where the lunch comes from a posh organic store, like whole foods. There's no way kids are going to want to eat lend olds they can't pronounce for lunch.

Topic Cute kid or future terror/drama queen in for a let down?
Posted 08 Feb 2012 01:48

I can't watch the video, as it is no longer available, but I was going to post something about toddlers and tiaras after watching a few episode. I think it is absolutely disgusting to do this to children. It basically sexualises children, they wear revealing clothing and wear makeup so they look like thirty year olds... when they are three. The children also rarely look like they enjoy it. I find it pretty awful at any age to be honest, but judging young children on their looks at such a young age shouldn't be allowed.

Topic Glee
Posted 01 Feb 2012 15:50

Yes I painfully watch Glee, however tonights episode with MJ's tunes was pretty damned good!

What do you want to know when you started this thread? Do you want to know if I have Tuesday night parties with cupcakes? - NO!

Season 2 Premier, my friend and I made glee themed cupcakes and had a party. Good excuse to drink a lot of alcohol and eat cupcakes, not like we needed one.

However, I´ve quickly lost interest in the show. Every ten episodes or so there´s one I enjoy

Topic A question for all you lady's out there
Posted 30 Jan 2012 03:25

I don't think being unemployed would stop me from dating someone, long as they were trying to find one. I wouldn't date someone with four kids though, but that's only because I am a 20 year old student, and in no way ready for kids.

Topic Would u rather a guy said the first word or would u rather confront him first ?

The word confront made me think it was about cheating or something.

Topic The worst thing a guy has done on a date with u?
Posted 30 Jan 2012 03:22

This has definitely been done before, I would suggest searching before posting a question.

Anyways, I went on a date with a Chinese guy who took me to a Chinese restaurant. I was nervous and not doing too well with chopsticks, I asked the waitress for a fork, and the guy told the waitress not to bring the fork, because I was going to have to use the chopsticks.

Topic The Use of the Word "Baby"
Posted 30 Jan 2012 03:09

In the past, I have hated being called babe, and wouldn't tolerate it. My boyfriend calls me babe, or baby and I don't mind anymore. My mother has always called me babe, and I have found it odd

Topic My current girlfreind and her so called True love
Posted 29 Jan 2012 08:34

I was just asking, because you kept saying she talked to him for two years, and he doesn't remember her. Maybe he was someone who had a lot of things going all at once. It sounds lie she's not over him, and you need to find someone else.

Topic Alcohol bans in parks and beaches - "Un-Australian"?
Posted 27 Jan 2012 00:09

We have such bans in places in the UK, together with really tight anti-smoking laws. These are 'justified' by legislators as 'for the public health'.

What I fail to understand is when we have all stopped drinking and smoking,
and are therefore healthier,
and so live longer,
while the authorities receive no alcohol or tobacco taxes,

WHO is going to pay our pensions?

I think we have a very very long way to go before people stop drinking.

Topic Body Modification
Posted 26 Jan 2012 23:58

(GB - if you ever do decide to get a tattoo, I would recommend that you go to Custom Inc in Glasgow)

I have one tattoo and am looking to get another, but am having trouble finding a good artist in my city. I find so many places I visit, they want me to bring in pictures they can trace, and they won't draw it themselves. I love Glasgow, and it's not too far, maybe it will give me a good excuse to go back.

I only have ear piercings at the moment but have had others I have taken out. I think body mod can be really hot, long as it's tasteful and not too tacky. I see myself getting a few more tattoos, maybe repierce some things. I am not going to do anything too heavy - transdermal stuff or tongue splitting. I have seen some really horrible things gone wrong. In the uk you don't have to be licensed to be a piercer.

Topic Will you say what area in uk you come from or would you be afraid to be recognised

Not only do I not have any pictures up, but I,m from London and live in Newcastle. There are a lot of people living in those two cities.

Topic Healthy snacks
Posted 25 Jan 2012 01:48

I'll look out for those DD. I love dried mango, but it's hard to find ones that are inexpensive and don't have a ton of sugar. I did buy dried cranberries, but can only eat a very small amount, since they are so acidic.

Topic STD - the initial conversation between you and him/her
Posted 20 Jan 2012 02:19

If it was something treatable, it a non-issue, I would just wait.

If it were HIV or something like that, I wouldn't want to know up front. I would want to know after a couple of dates, maybe when you are thinking of sleeping together. If I saw that I had a future with someone, then I could deal with them having HIV, and would just have to be more careful. I might not jump to intercourse right away, maybe that would take a bit more time, but there are plenty of other things you can do until then.

Topic Healthy snacks
Posted 20 Jan 2012 02:11

I am trying to eat a lot healthier than I have been the past few weeks. Whenever I feel like snacking, I'll usually eat a bit of popcorn. I have a massive sweet tooth, and find it difficult to find foods that are healthy and satisfy it. What kind of healthy snacks do you enjoy when you are looking for something a little sweet?

In the summer I would eat fruit, but it being winter in england, so little is in season.

Topic Chinese/Japanese
Posted 20 Jan 2012 02:09

Yeah, I wouldn't trust google translate, I live with two Chinese girls, and a Japanese student. When they don't understand things, I am always typing it into some translator or other and a lot of the time they get the meaning, but the translations aren't correct.

Topic Being asked to be the "Alibi" for a cheating friend
Posted 20 Jan 2012 02:06

I was in a situation one where a friend's pregnant fiancé was having sex with the guy I was sleeping with. They asked me to keep it a secret, as we were close friends. I knew his fiancé quite well too, and I really struggled with whether or not I should tell her. In the end I did, she shouldn't have been marrying a man who was cheating on her, not once, but all the time with the same guy. Everyone was a little mad at me at first, but now everyone is a lot happier not being together.

Topic Has anyone tried these?

I haven't tried it, nor do I really have the desire. They didn't come in any nice flavour, maybe a raspberry flavoured one, and I would give it a try.

Let us know how it is pix. Think it will help you get over your issues with texture as well?

Topic He sent you away for a while?
Posted 14 Jan 2012 12:56

I know a few couples who have lived in separate countries for a bit for financial reasons. Or have come over to the UK, and left their families in their home countries and sent back money. Sometimes you have to do that. I for one would never be eager to live in a separate continent from my partner. If I knew he had cheated on me in the past, I probably wouldnt be very trusting.

Topic How to introduce bonding slowly over time?
Posted 13 Jan 2012 02:36

To convince your bf, as a starter, I would suggest to get a handcuff first, which you can get at most adult stores. Then during the foreplay or intercourse, playfully cuff yourself or him on the bed, and check how he likes the idea.

Easier to get out of if someone decides they don't like it

Topic Sex Offender Notification
Posted 13 Jan 2012 02:33

In the UK last year an eleven year old was caught "playing doctors" with a nine year old girl at school. Now he is on the sex offenders register for life.

What worries me is the impression we are giving to children that sex is bad, and all adults are dangerous.

But they are both under 16, how could only one of them get in trouble?

I think some thinks are ridiculous.

If there was someone who was a dangerous sexual offender - rapist, kidnapper, pedophile... I would want to know. I don't trust that people change that much. Maybe clarifying what their crimes actually are would prevent those who slept with their 17 year old girlfriends, being harassed, or anything like that.

Topic Dead man sued because his flying body parts injured someone else. Frivolous or necessary lawsuit?
Posted 12 Jan 2012 01:40

I think it's a bit ridiculous, but I know people in the states who are injured and sue, because they feel they have no other option to pay there medical bills?

But how can you sue a dead person? He can't pay anybody.

Topic Hibiscus Tea - lower your blood pressure naturally
Posted 09 Jan 2012 14:57

When I was living in central America you could find hibiscus drinks everywhere. It is usually boiled in water and then consumed cold. I found a shop back in the UK where I can buy it. Having kidney issues, I was advised to drink it, as it is good for them. However, it is really bitter, and when I would have it I'm central America, it would typically be loaded with sugar. When I drink it at home, I tend to dilute it and then use a little Splenda.
