Topic My first !*, and I loved it!

I wish that we could replace the scoring of 1-5 and simply have 'Did you like the story ~ YES or NO and WHY?'.
I like this idea, but I need my shades of grey.
To take it further, it would be cool to have a "fact" based rating system that could help make voting more consistent. Does my 3 mean the same thing as your 3?
(5) It made me come
I think there is more to a story then whether or not it makes you come.

How many of these belong to DB? I think I remember him making a comment like that on one of my stories. Even edited it for me :)
My first story as well. I eventually got over it and started writing again. Haven't been called illiterate or retarded since. So Thanks!

So does that mean I can go visit the sheep in the field next me? Or borrow my neighbours dog?
Topic What is your favourite charitable cause?
28 Jun 2010 20:59
I have done a lot of fundraising and volunteering in the past couple of years. I would donate to some of the places I have worked with. I am very hesitant to donate to the larger charities, because so much of what you donate is sucked up in other costs and so a lot gets lost before it actually makes it to the cause. So I would donate straight to:
- a school in Tanzania I taught visually impaired children at. They have a boarding section for the visually impaired children, but can hardly afford to do so.
-an NGO I worked with in Sierra Leone who work in areas of conflict to try and improve the mental health sector and educate local people.
-In the past couple of days I met a woman who is raising money for an orphanage in Sumatra and is doing a month long trek in the jungle so they can buy part of a rubber plantation and cover their day to day costs. So additional donations can be put into an educational trust fund for children to go to University. I may come along for the trek too if my foot injury get better :)
There are so many but that is where I would start.

The death penalty should ONLY be used if there is no uncertainty that the criminal is guilty,
How can you be that certain unless you actually see them do it. There will always (okay maybe not always, but a lot of the time) somebody doubting how guilty there are even if there is pretty good evidence. (maybe some crazy people)... How can you guage the certainty of somebodies guilt?
I have no idea if that made much sense... I am tired

Topic Capital Punishment

I am generally against it.
If talking about capital punishment in the US as well as some other countries, it's much more expensive than keeping somebody in Prison for life. I think life in prison would be more of a deterrent than the death penalty (I can see that is very debatable). And I don't really see it as accomplishing that much. I don't really like the "eye for an eye" argument either.
Capital Punishment in a lot of countries seems a lot harsher and doesn't have the same appeal processes. Things like stoning just don't seem nice...
Also, you can't take it back. Once someone is dead, they are dead.

I would be any of those if I could shape one but it always ends up going wrong so I just shave it all off

"Like most of the others, I was a seeker, a mover, a malcontent, and at times a stupid hell-raiser. I was never idle long enough to do much thinking, but I felt somehow that my instincts were right. I shared a vagrant optimism that some of us were making real progress, that we had taken an honest road, and that the best of us would inevitably make it over the top. At the same time, I shared a dark suspicion that the life we were leading was a lost cause, that we were all actors, kidding ourselves along on a senseless odyssey. It was the tension between these two poles - a restless idealism on one hand and a sense of impending doom on the other - that kept me going"

In an earlier post, I mentioned the Bulwar-Lytton Bad Writing Contest. The web site is LOL funny. Here's the link--check it out. http://www.bulwer-lytton.com/2009.htm
I got this link from the same site http://www.guardian.co.uk/books/2007/nov/27/awardsandprizes.badsexaward/print
Uncle was now as soft as a coil of excrement. She sucked on him nonetheless with an avidity that could come only from the Evil One - that she knew.
Her hand opened me. Then her hand became a wing. Then everything about me became a wing, a single wing, and she was the other wing, we were a bird. We were a bird that could sing Mozart.

Oh NO! It was bad to stumble accross this thread while drinking coffee in a busy public place. Not only did my coffee end up all over my laptop and notebook but I was laughing so hysterically that someone came over to ask if I was okay and what was so funny. When I started to explain I just started laughing again. I had to pack up and leave because I was worried they were going to call the police or something. So here I am an hour later still laughing my head off in a hostel. Great Impression to make in a new town!

I met another back packer when I was in Mexico last year who said he would wanted to be cremated and a little bag of ashes given to each of his friends/grandchildren/children (depending on when he died) along with some money so they could travel and would have to find a place to spread his ashes.
A little weird, but I sort of liked the idea.

Topic The "Number"
07 Jun 2010 17:50
I don't really care how many people a guy has slept with, but I usually avoid the question. I don't really care and I don't really want to put a number on my sexual partners. But if I were in a relationship with someone and they asked I would say, if they can't accept me for me then we have no business being in a relationship.
Topic Having Sex for Desperately Needed Money

And let's face it, we've all had sex at some point in our lives for way dumber reasons than the ones listed above.
I have had sex for money. I worked at a fetish club for a bit. Was thrilling and exciting at first, but alot of the guys were pretty violent and I just got sick of that part, but by then I had all my medical bills paid off and some money saved up, have now been travelling for six months and still doing well off of it.
I would maybe do it again, if I needed the money. It was fairly safe though. Protection was always used and there was usually someone around the corner who could help if things got too out of hand.
