Topic Have You Ever Insulted A Stranger Because of Their Looks?
25 Feb 2015 04:29
I never would. When I was about eleven and got into little fights with girls, I would say some mean things but they hit me back just as hard. I would never say anything demeaning to a stranger. I never talk about looks anymore. I like to think I've grown out of it. If I find fault with a person, it's through their personality.
Topic Is it possible to write a good story when you havent actually had sex before?
03 Feb 2015 04:29
The only reason I ever got into reading erotica was becuase I was SO curious about sex. I'd never done it and reading stuff off Lush was exciting and inspiring. I didn't write anything while still being a virgin but I had very little experience when I started writing; most of my stories were creative - not an actual decription of things that happened. I'm pretty sure that most people who write about huge sex parties haven't ACTUALLY experienced them; it's more of putting a fantasy into words and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. If you read sex stories, you can write sex stories, no matter what your virgin-status.
Topic Specific Series
03 Feb 2015 04:22
Been trying to find a specific story series but I'm not having any luck. Does anyone here know the title to the following story?
A guy is just moving into his new house when his neighbour's daughter invites him to the BBQ they're having. The guy and the daughter wind up having a relationship. The guy is a businessman who can fly small planes, and in a later part of the series flies the daughter with him on a business trip.
I had a quick search but couldn't find anything that matched the description. If you REALLY want to read it, search BBQ and go through every single result... I don't envy you! There are plenty of other fantastic stories to read though; check out the EP section and I'm sure you'll find a new favourite.

Topic Cigarette smoking

I've smoked less than ten cigarettes in my life and that was when I was a teenager. I'm not opposed to smoking, but it's not a habit I want to create.
Topic Three-parent babies - anyone else freaked out?
30 Jan 2015 05:05
I know, I know, it will help people have healthy children but is it necessary? I find the whole idea scary and sci-fi like. I know it's not my place to say, because I (hopefully) will never need to consider this kind of thing but I can't help feel it's just... wrong. The prcedure sounds like it makes sense but when I look at the whole thing and think, 'a child would have DNA from three people' it doesn't sit right with me.

Topic Apple Cider Vinegar, Have you tried it?
30 Jan 2015 04:45
I've never drank it neat. My brother bought this exact same bottle - he used to have bad skin but it didn't help much. I'm going to try it out, especially with some of the suggestions on here. Anything's better than cod liver oil!
Topic How effective is story spamming to friends?
29 Jan 2015 04:55
Then don't. Sadly the forum is already suffering from people who can't design as well as they write.
I was sure that rule was one image at a maximum of 150px high - but I see three mods on this thread alone breaking that
Topic How effective is story spamming to friends?

I save story spamming for when I'm particularly proud of something I've written. I don't send out messages everytime I publish a story.
I generally try to read the stories that other authors spam me with. I don't mind. Sometimes you discover an amazing writer.
I think it's worth it, so long as you don't do it every single time (unless you're awesome.)
Topic Fat People -Thick or what!
08 Jan 2015 04:07
They're not thick. I think that once they start, they find it difficult to stop. I mean, imagine if all women kept eating for two after they'd had their baby. Half the world would be obese. People get into bad habits and we shouldn't judge them but help them. My dad's friend was huge (literally, as wide as the door), he had a gastric band put in and he looks GREAT. He has young kids and now he can enjoy them. I personally tell myself that if I don't buy junk food, I won't eat it - if it's in the cupboard, it gets eaten. Everyone should do this when they go shopping. Avoid it as soon as you can. Don't just think 'I won't eat it' because when it's there you will, or it'll get wasted which isn't good either. I also think junk food should carry health warnings, and like a huge red exclamation mark if the fat/sugar content is high.

That all nuclear weapons should be destroyed.
Topic Any experts on Sherlock Holmes?
19 Dec 2014 04:30
Does it really matter? In the last Harry Potter book, JK Rowling got it wrong when she said that, 'The muggles who lived in Grimmauld Place had long since accepted the amusing mistake in the numbering that had caused number eleven to sit beside number thirteen.' Obviously, 11 and 13 would be on opposite sides of the street in England. Authors are human too. I find it kind of pleasing, actually.

Yes and no. Great wife - never cheated (great sex for 30+ years and on going), proud of kids and saw the world.
That is so beautiful.

As for the gunman, we have to stop legitimising this sort of criminal behaviour with terms such as terrorism. It was nothing more than an irrational psychotic break from a mentally ill individual. The fear and racism that spreads from an incident like this is so disappointing. I caught a clip of some fucking lunatic anchor on Fox News drumming up panic about the Lindt Café two blocks from his studio in the States, as if there's now a worldwide ISIS campaign against chocolate. It's a disgrace.
What is really encouraging from all this though, is the I'll Ride With You initiative. Hundreds of thousands of people from all walks of life willing to offer a hand of friendship to Muslims who otherwise might feel intimidated by the ignorant backlash from this incident. It should be applauded. We need to engage with one another, not alienate and isolate each other.
This is the attitude I wish everyone would adopt. I am SO sick and tired of the BBC going on about 'It was an Islamic flag, it had the Muslim declaration of faith on it.'
Who gives a fuck?
He was a lone, unhinged individual. We should take this opportunity to learn and embrace one another, not generate blind hate towards a community who are, for the most part, peaceful. I'm sick of getting on public transport and seeing every seat occupied but the one next to a Middle Eastern guy. By inciting hatred, don't you think more people feel isolated and are hence more likely to do this kind of thing? We're all people and you can't go through life without trust. Why do we never talk to each other? Smiling at a stranger is an act of kindness and we should all do it, regardless of whether he's wearing a suit or a turban.
