I like non-fiction that grabs your attention. ie Malcolm Gladwells books, tipping point, blink. Botany of Desire by Michael Pollan. Learning is the biggest thrill. especially when presented in an approachable manner.
As far as fiction I've read a lot of South American writers: Cortazar, Marquez, Borges, Llosa. I junk out on detective fiction. Jo Nesbo is current fav.

Masterpiece Mystery esp, Endeavor, Sherlock,hope there's going to be another season! Whose line is it anyway. Love improve music and comedy. HBO putting out some good shows. Top Chef but it's getting kind of old. Tour de France! The greatest sporting event. Premier league soccer. Jeopordy
