Topic Should kids in the untied states have to say the pledge of alligence in school
Posted 19 May 2015 20:27

I feel like it's mostly for show. People say the words but they don't really think about them properly... it's just tradition. But then... I'm not from that country and we don't pledges or whatever I think the most patriotic thing our country does is sing the national anthem at world sporting events haha

You seem to have handled a very delicate situation with your friend with all the sensitivity and kindness one human being can offer to another. You have let her know your feelings very gently, and it really is up to her to accept that. But it sounds like you have done your best to maintain the even keel of that friendship.

Thank you, I don't want to see either of them hurt I love them both a lot, it's hard to find the right way to approach it sometimes.

Yes it is a long distance thing. We live in different hemispheres ha :( we've always had a plan to meet but life keeps getting in the way, I'm still in university myself, and so flying halfway across the world hasn't really been in my budget unfortunately. I want to wake up to my gf's face next year ha. But that's assuming we ever actually meet...

Ok so I've been in an online relationship with another Lush user for the last two, almost three years. I've been 100% happy with it that way, and have treated it as a genuine relationship the entire time. I've never looked at anybody else and haven't wanted anybody else for that matter. I'm in love with her and she makes me happy.

Only this past summer I've reconnected with one of my old school friends (we ended up being housemates, as I was boarding at her mums house then she came home from uni for the summer) and we basically spent every moment in each others pockets. It started with late nights up watching movies and just talking about everything and nothing. I guess just life. I guess all the story sharing kind of changed something between us but one night it all kind of changed from platonic to something else. She had an emotional breakdown one evening and I stayed up with her and talked to her and then when we went to bed I told her if she needed me just to knock on my door. As it happens, said knock occurred a while later and I spent the night in her bed just holding her. I suppose that was the turning point for us both although neither of us acknowledged it until after a few months after she'd moved away again and she told me she liked me and saw me as more than a friend. We discussed it a little bit, and established the feeling was mutual but we kind of agreed to just let things happen as they would.

I still love my girlfriend more than anything and I want to be with her, but I also care deeply for my friend. I love her but it's not too late for me to prevent things from going further, I guess my main issue is how can I kind of let her down gently and still keep her friendship. I don't want to break her heart with a rebuttal, I think she loves me already but hasn't realised it yet. Then again she might not, but I think she does. I don't want to see her hurt, she's so innocent and naive. One of those rare flowers who somehow have remained sheltered their whole lives. Life is hard... how can I proceed from here?

Topic Exclusivity within a cyber-relationship. A promise taken seriously or not?
Posted 15 Feb 2015 03:44

I take my online relationship seriously.

I know its weird cos we never see one another but once I've given my word to someone I do my best to keep it, and it's been 2 and a half years now of being in an online relationship and we've had no troubles. I guess she could be cheating and not telling, as could I, but I'm not the type to have a side piece.

If you think he's married and you still want to seduce him, no that's not really ok in my book.

Posted 01 Oct 2014 00:04

lol I don't see why they shouldn't have a profile picture. It doesn't have to be a picture of them it could be anything, and anything is better than nothing to me ha. First impressions are everything ha.

Although this is a moot point after the vote, there would have been nothing to stop a reunion. The problem would have been the terms.
As it would be Scotland requesting, they would have less representation in Westminster.

Yeah I saw that. It was relatively close though. For a first time vote.

Not sure really. If I had sex with men I'd probably use them for protection. I'm a safety first type of girl ha

Topic Nine-year old girl accidentally kills shooting instructor
Posted 19 Sep 2014 02:16

My condolences to the family of the man killed, and my deepest condolences to the little girl and her family. I've never personally fired a full-auto weapon, I'm not familiar with the feel of the recoil on a full-auto weapon, the only thing I can say right now about this horrible event is that the instructor repeatedly places himself downrange (past the 9 o'clock position) whilst instructing his student, which is a huge no-no. May he rest in peace.

I agree.

I definitely vote that he should never play pro football again. I have zero tolerance for domestic violence and the way the NFL handled his case was laughable, like so many of you said.

I think they should try Independence on for size, who knows, they might just look fabulous in it! And lets be honest... if they decided they didn't like it, England would jump at the chance to have them back probably ha.

I just got finished reading all the posted comments on this thread. Almost half of the answers were about religion.

I imagine most people are attempting to convey that they believe a higher being but not the practices and culture surrounding it...

Topic Obama stupidity
Posted 17 Sep 2014 02:48

Wow so many different points of view - I think everyone has their own reasons and answers, some good and some not. I'm not American so I don't have the same patriotism in my veins as a lot of you do, but I do know this - every President has their flaws nobody is going to be perfect and they'll never be able to please everyone but I personally think Obama has had some excellent visions for America and I believe he is invested in the the concept of welfare and prosperity for the people of America for the most part.
