A Beacon

A Beacon

For Joe
I am a beacon of light from a lighthouse pulsating for you

From the dark sea I do not see you returning to me,

My eyes are weary from looking.

My heart is broken as I'm afraid you've gone to other ports,

Perhaps you got lost along your journey.

You are my ship that I seek on the horizon,

The one I've been searching for.

I hope that you are safe and well,

Not capsized, forever lost unseen.

I would become a mermaid and come rescue you,

Bringing you safely to the shore.

I will save you, my love,

Giving you my tender care.

Wrapping you up in my kisses,

Never releasing you from my arms.

So tonight I'm turning on the beacon,

Ever searching for you.

Out my windows,

Of my broken heart.

Please see my beacon of light

That I am sending you to find your way back to me.
