A Princess Waits

Tags: poem
The princess sat patiently in her handmaid's cottage.
Although only a short distance from the castle walls,
her mind was miles and miles away.

She thought of him coming to her.
Although she belonged to another, and she truly loved the prince,
she would always only long for her knight.

The prince cared for her but knew not how to express it.
She needed the knight's strong arms and caring soul.
She needed to feel the forbidden touch of him being inside her once again.

She removed her cloak and fixed her hair for him.
She smoothed out her simple purple dress.
It was much to simple for a princess, but such was today's disguise.

She closed her eyes and thought of the night before.
Alone in her bed chamber, thinking of what it would be like with him today.
Her hands caressing her body. Imagining it was his strong hands upon her.

Now her hands moved down her body. Cupping her full breasts.
Teasing her firm nipples.
Just as she had done in bed the night before.

Her right hand slid under the hem of her dress.
She caressed her bare thigh.
Would he think her a slut if he walked in on her right now?

She smiled knowing it would excite him to see her this way.
Knowing that her body was aching for him.
Knowing that it was only him that could make her feel this way.

Her fingers pressed into her wetness.
Bringing herself to the edge.
Stopping just short. Wanting to save the best for him.

She opened her eyes and walked toward the window.
She saw him on horseback at the crest of the hill.
He rode down through the meadow, through a yellow sea of buttercups.

As he neared, she sighed looking into his deep blue eyes.
She longed for his tender touch.
For his tender lips to be all over her body.

Ever closer.
Nearly in reach...

The alarm clanged, crashing through the morning stillness.
Another day of longing for the next restful sleep.
Longing for the next fairy tale.

Longing for he handsome knight to finally arrive.
