Strength and forces of nature can't be held back...
The shadows dance over the ground
as light shines through the leaves of a tree
still dressed in the light green colours of spring.
Nature’s awakening a beauty to behold,
like a nervous, blushing bride
it awaits the full bloom of summer.

As the sap flows through the branches of the tree
a girl sat in its shade notices her hands trembling,
her blood pulsing and slowly heating her body,
stir up feelings she has long tried to hold back,
needs she has refused to let surface,
denying their integral part of her very being.

It seemed safer to go into hibernation,
a state of being, but not really living,
a place where she could not get hurt again.
Her desires seeming like a curse to live with,
easier to deny and hide away.
Yet somehow they returned like spring after winter.

Leaning against the strong trunk of the tree
she closes her eyes and let out a sigh.
A light breeze rustles her hair,
flickers of sun through the leaves warming her skin.
Memories of a lover’s breath, a lover’s touch,
And worriedly she realizes she awakens like spring.
