We weren’t ever meant to be together,

Broken pieces forced to mend,

Just look at how well we came to blend!

But then we broke apart,

Shattered on the floor again,

How many times can we pretend?

Different cracks and different pieces,

Jagged fringes, sharp shards,

Old glue failed.

But now we are changed,

Fit together in a different way,

What was broken become beautiful.

Tape and glue turning wires and wedges,

Ornamental to a new purpose,

A mug to a mosaic.
