He was what he claimed to despise,
A fake, a user,
Full of words, but little substance.
She became what she swore
Never to be again,
Used, a victim.
Her past had darkness in it,
People who broke her innocence,
Took things not belonging to them.
It took years to grow,
Leave a past behind,
Not whole, but determined to be strong.
She was blinded by his charm,
Falling into old patterns,
As he prayed on her weakness.
He wanted to be adored
And she gave him everything,
Her self-worth nowhere to be found.
It ended how it had to,
In devastation, unimaginable pain,
Broken pieces of a life.
With help she overcame,
The truth slowly sinking in,
She had never truly broken the circle of her past.
With insight comes progress.
Her head held high, she moves forward,
Taking baby steps into light.
And she doesn’t walk alone.
Some are there to support when she stumbles,
To be a reminder that she is someone.
She is so grateful for their love and support,
With the knowledge clear in mind;
She has to fight for herself.
She is worthy of love.
