Distant Hearts

Distant Hearts

“Everything you can imagine is real.” – Pablo Picasso
Lying quietly
As the darkness
Envelops me
Yet, no matter how tired,
My mind finds you
Across the miles
Imagining we are
In the same pose
Somehow connected
Choosing to believe
Although separated by distance,
Our minds are entwined
Our bodies may not touch
But they do merge
And pulse together
The whispers in the darkness
Float over the miles
Into waiting ears
As sleep washes over us
Dreams wake our souls
With wet kisses
Lying quietly
As morning arrives
After such beautiful dreams
Distance is a reality
Yet the whisper is heard,
Good morning, baby.
