The memories of things never happened.

The desires that were shared in our mind.

The laughter conjured from nothing.

The touches that weren’t, left behind.

Wondering how it is I am losing.

When I remember not taking part.

Thoughts of the rift make it larger.

My inners being rendered apart.

Insanity looms now and beckons.

Me to partake in her game.

The wound being left open to fester.

No heart lifting, left at your name.

The tenderness now is forgotten.

The lights have put out at last.

The door shuts quietly behind me.

As shadows inside make my past.

My laptop lid can be closed.

My updates can now be installed.

Is there another tale waiting for me,

Or was that the sound of my soul being walled?
