For the Win

Oh well
Run as fast as I can but it doesn’t matter
You always seem to catch up
My feelings tangle every time I see you
I don’t know how to act

All the smooth lines and calm appearances disappear with a single glance
I don’t even know you but you seem to know me
Everything I think...
All my bad habits…

You know when I ruffle my hair that I’m annoyed
When I think I bite my lip
It’s as if you have a dictionary to my body language

I hate it and love it at the same time
It’s so unbelievably refreshing to not have to pretend
To be real

But my blanket of security is blasted to the wind when you come ‘round
I can’t fake it around you without an arched eyebrow or smirk
I want to laugh when I see you do this but I stay irritated

Only to have a reason to think something’s wrong about you
That you’re not complete perfection

It doesn’t really matter
You think our playful bickering is a game
And if you do then I’m determined to win

I strike with grace while you rebound fast
You leave me breathless and it’s amazing how that feels

You don’t back down like the others
Others smile at our false arguments
And laugh at our attitude towards each other

I think we all know how this is going to end
We’re going to get along just fine

You know that I’m the one
And deep down I know that too

I’m just determined to win first..
