Goodbye my Love

A man reluctantly leaves his lover
Goodbye my love, I'm leaving, I'll be gone when you arise.

Your perfect form still sleeping, tears now in my eyes.

Your body still breathtaking, as your breasts gently rise and fall.

My tongue will no longer be tasting you, my love, my life, my all.

We met when you were hurting, I fell quickly, and fell deep.

Your intellect and elegance, made me take the leap.

I thought that I knew love before, You showed me my mistake.

You invaded every thought I had, whether sleeping or awake.

You astounded me then daily, Our laughter flowing free.

And then as we became closer, your body opened up to me.

Our lovemaking exquisite, we came and came and came.

We'd fall asleep and eat a little, and then we'd come again.

Our bodies in perfect harmony. Our juices together mixed.

Your happiness returning, your heart was nearly fixed.

But as you realised your beauty, and regained your confidence again,

The list of suitors started growing, slowly driving me insane.

You lapped up all their flirting, it made you feel good once more, inside.

But my heart it started breaking and my soul it gently died.

And although my love for you is constant. it will never go away,

I know that I must leave you although I really want to stay.

But I could not live with the resentment, If I ever made you choose.

My love too pure, too sacred. Your love I would rather lose.

They will all love you as I have, but I can't play second best.

My heart has been slowly dying, and now he needs a rest.

But I know that you are happy, Your spark has lit again.

And no matter where I am my darling, my love will stay the same.

So forgive me please my darling, for leaving, but you know,

That the best way I can show my love to you is by sadly letting go.
