Even within a broken body a spirit can soar...
The pain is ripping through her

As she is curled up in bed,

Silent screams on her lips,

Cheeks covered in salty tears.

Tonight the agony has found her again,

Her body feeling like a prison,

Holding her captive, in torment,

Betraying her, making life so hard.

Most days she puts on a smile,

Live with the discomfort and aching within.

She has found ways to live with it,

Not letting a broken shell imprison her spirit.

But at times it gets too much,

Gut-wrenching pain,

Like a million knives stabbing her,

She can do nothing but pray for it to pass.

In the darkest of moments,

Having him that will hold her,

Comfort and wipe away tears,

Means everything.

Knowing she isn’t alone in the darkness,

Brings a calm in the middle of all the hurt,

As he kisses her softly,

Reminding her better times will come

She can live within her prison

And breathe through the anguish

With hope.
