I Still ...

still waiting for you ...

I still wake up in the nights
Sweating to your dreams
I still stare the open door
Waiting for you it seems
I don’t blink my eyes anymore
Expecting you to pass
I never knew it good
That it would end up so at last.

I still check my silent phone
To see if you made a call
I still sometimes shout and moan
Hoping you hear it across the wall
I don’t turn my lights off
Letting you know that I still exist
I never knew it good
That I would not be even missed.

I still do write your name
Just checking if I could feel
I still order two plates
Hoping to see you for the meal
I can’t help it but it is for you
That I lied and hid underneath
I never knew it good
That ‘Us’ would be a myth.

I still look for shining line
Even in this darkening cloud
I still search you in your words
Though there was nothing that we vowed
I am hating it so much
To be standing in this place
I never knew it good
That I would not look back you in the face.

I still remember those good times
When we shared the laugh and smile
I still go through our talks
Those which ran for miles and miles
It will be hard to shrug it off
When the memories are so vast
I never knew it good
That present would be new past.

I still crave you perfect smile
I love that stretch of lips
I still drink my wine with pause
Hoping that you’ll take next sip
I always had this thought
That we can go strong and long
I never knew it good
That I would be proved so wrong.

I still don’t blame you
Because the mistake was sure mine
I still hoped it that you
Would not let me go offline
I wish this by heart and soul
To be with you and strike the rhyme
You better know this for good
That I will be waiting for you all the time …
