My heart cries out, tears trickling down my cheeks,

And looking through the weeping window pane,

I whimper, furtive tears flowing unsought,

But there is no sign, for I have lost you,

And my soul splinters in shards of anguish.

You inveigled me into surrender,

And captivated by your love, I fell,

Enraptured by your hypnotic presence,

Caught in a net of yearning for your touch,

Believing that our souls burned with one flame.

The rain is pouring down, and memories

Flood through the doorways of my emotions.

I danced in the rain in the futile hope

That I could wash away your every thought,

Through the torrents running down my body.

I tried to forgive, forget and move on,

But failed, defeated by the perfection

And truth of our coupling, lost in the joy

Of every shared moment, even though

I had acquiesced in your wish to part.

There is no way to forget the relish

Of the lascivious embrace of your smile,

Or the heat of your fingers on my skin,

Igniting such a sweet fire of passion

That I cannot deny, whate’er your will.

You breathed life into me, healing my scars,

Your sweet embrace forever my abode,

All I ever need are those precious words

‘Never would I leave you to cry alone,

For you are mine from now to eternity.’

I would cross oceans to be in your arms,

And all I need is for you to hold me

Close to your side forever, but alas,

You lack the heart and soul for constancy,

Too afraid to pass the test of true love.

You inveigled me into surrender,

With subtle words and hollow promises,

Only to abandon me to cold tears.

My love I will ne’er stop waiting for you

Your love the only dream to which I hold.

I dedicate this poem to a very special person who was the sunshine of my life and still is. At times, we meet people and connect with them instantly that we feel they have been a part of your life forever. We were just so perfect. Thank you for everything 'S'.
