It has never been easy

It has never been easy
Never so possible
Speaking in words
Those were lifeless, inaudible.

Walking with confidence
Smiling so wide
Filled with emotions
Those eyes could never hide.

Hiding in mask
Disguising the pout
No longer could it last
Damp eyes ripped it out.

At times backing oneself
Turning to stone
Displayed vulnerably on shelf
Stinging flesh on the bones.

Running from rains
Hiding in clouds
Attempts in vain
As lightening struck loud.

Climbing the branches
Loosing the roots
Facing avalanches
Feeling naked in suits.

So brittle
So caustic
Though vital
Its plastic.

Perceiving it hollow
As empty as drain
Can’t taste, can’t swallow
No water, no grain.

Staring the mirror
Weakening on knees
Vision it is reflecting
But is it still me?

It has never been easy
To fade off the past
It'll always be hazy
When the truth is so vast.
