Tags: love, soul,
When I found you I was damaged and afraid
I offered to you my heart and my soul
These parts so essential had been beaten and broke
Somehow, someway, you made them whole.

If my soul could speak to you, my dear,
it would tell you the reasons I am who I am.
Whispering to you of the demons I fear,
showing you the damage wrought before we began.

It would tell you the story of my life
A journey without a map to guide me
A tale both dark and beautiful
of a girl desperate to thrive and to be.

True friends that were like family
some who lost their fight that I so miss.
How each of my babies brought me such joy
Watching them grow has been my one taste of bliss.

Sunrise signals hope by the light of the day
my soul claims each day as a victory.
In the dark of the night I sometimes lose my way
Somehow you can stop the fear from swallowing me.

My soul would whisper so quietly to you
Giving a voice to my unspoken fears,
It would speak to you of my desire to live
How I beg and I plead for many more years.

Not all that it would say would be sad or blue
My soul would tell you of happy times too.
With true delight it would repeat our story
Of how one blessed day I came upon you.

I wish you could hear my soul when it speaks
For then I know you would be able to see
Never before have I felt joy as with you
Nor ever before felt a love such as we.

I hope when you get a quiet moment or two
You will listen my love and hear my soul's tale.
A tale once of heartbreak but now of love’s hope,
the story of a girl who refuses to fail.
