Long-distance love

She would walk through light and darkness,
Climb endless hills, cross treacherous rivers,
Just for a moment in his arms.

There is nothing she wouldn’t do
To feel his soft caress, his lips on hers,
Know she is finally home where she belongs.

But sometime life has its own plans,
Even though their hearts beat as one
They are oceans apart and have to remain so.

Distance can be hard on yearning bodies,
Yet emotions see no boundaries,
They float through endless time and space.

Separated, but also so close,
They can’t touch each other, feel the other,
Still they are as close as can be, souls connected.

When they speak, her heart rejoices,
Physically they are worlds apart,
Spiritually they are together always.

They chat, talk, play, laugh and cry,
Share moments of mutual pleasure and ecstasy,
There is no doubt in their minds that they belong
