Decadent flights of dreaming spin softly,
Harnessed in gem-lit heavens
As they hang from the stars by threads of moon glow.

This velvet azure between earth and the galaxies
Floats my wishing on a raft of silver,
Twisting on the horizon of the deep.

White horses thunder up the shores of ambivalence,
The fury of the seas releasing this heart
From the chains that lock it into
The depths of the groaning earth.

Hissing foam that spits its naked spite
Clears away the driftwood of
Painful memories
As they seep through the sand of forget-me-not days.

I lie between the sky and the earth,
Held in a mist of gentle nothing,
Not quite recalling the chains of my prison,
Though they hold me tight
And deep
And low.

The caverns of time are a friend to none,
And a saviour to many who wander,
Seeking and lost in this spurious plane,
Floating on whispers and riding the wind.

Elemental gods and feral spectres
Watch their progress
And deny them maps
Whereby they may find their
Treasure of
Freedom.

And the past,
My past,
In an infinite wisdom,
And a calling hush of eternal ignorance,
Lends my being to slide through the ether,
Searching for the
One
Who will treasure my heart.

This door in the heavens,
Betwixt earth and sky,
And this azure dawning and setting sun,
Is both barrier still,
And my saving grace,
And I wonder,
Does he wait
On the other side?
