Dark clouds gather, the wind blowing hard,
Tears streaming down your face.
My mouth feels dry, your voice is shaky,
Why are we in this place?
I thought you loved me, I thought you cared,
So many questions in my head.
I do, I swear, you voice speaks softly,
But I just can’t, not yet.
Not yet can I be the one, you need, you want,
I want to be honest with you.
There are other things first, I need to deal with,
Just I don’t know what to do.
The lightning strikes, the thunder rolls,
I hold your face in my hand.
I kiss your tears, wipe them from your face,
Don’t want this moment to end.
Your lips brushes mine quickly, before pulling away,
You make this so hard for me.
But we have to go slowly, although I love you so much,
It’s not yet meant to be.
Why deny yourself love, if this feels so good?
I softly squeeze your hand.
But I will give you your time, I smile a fake smile,
It’s just hard to understand.
A tear rolls down my cheek as I walk to the door,
Rain sweeping against the window.
Know that I’ll wait, I just don’t know how long,
But now it’s time for me to go.
With pain in my heart, I wave you goodbye,
You’ll always be in my mind.
And with a soft click, while I walk into darkness,
The door closes softly behind.
