How she has changed me or freed me... or both
Two paths starting far apart
In time and space they do depart

One older, wide and straight
As if it fears it might be late

The other younger, wild and free
Just going where it wants to be

These different paths one day converge
Will they cross or will they merge?

The answer now is very clear
There is only one path now from here

Will the straight and older trail
Be the one that shall prevail?

Or will the winding crazy trace
Be the one that sets the pace?

Will strength and will dominate
And the converged path take off straight?

Or will the path that rambles free
Be the trail that they both will be?

Why did one trail never stray?
Why did the other go its way?

I am the path that did not veer
My destination seemed so clear

She is the trail that seemed so lost
Never worrying about the cost

I should have known the admonition
Life’s 'bout journey, not destination

So journey forth is what I’ll do
With the one who taught me true

Her path’s the one that I now follow
With her my life’s no longer hollow

We fit together hand and glove
She has my everlasting love
