Does time really heal, even a shattered heart?
She isn’t devastated anymore.

She isn’t rolled up into a tiny ball,

Unable to get up, to leave the house.

She sleeps, dresses, eats.

There is a smile on her face more often,

At times it even reaches her eyes.

She isn’t torn apart with grief now,

Shattered by the goodbye out of nowhere,

But the sadness still lingers inside.

When darkness falls,

Little voices still whisper in the back of her mind,

She doubts her worth to anyone,

Though it is better hidden than before.

There is some order, balance back in her life,

Yet she wonders quietly

Wrapped up in the silent blanket of night-time

Will the sadness ever disappear?

Is there a chance of feeling whole again?

Does time really heal all?

Deep down she knows the scars will always stay.

They might fade, but never go away.

Her broken pieces will never fit quite right,

Some are lost forever.

She wants to live now,

Move forward day by day,

Supported by amazing people,

Most of all He who calls her His,

He who holds her, supports her,

Even maybe loves her.

But sadness still follows her,

Some nights as silent screams.

Is the sadness her everlasting companion?

She doesn’t know.
