Sleep as I hold you

Tags: love, poem
Just a simple love poem
The dawn breaks and sun is slow to come out.

The soft cool crisp air is blowing in the trees.

The white snow falls slowly down to whiten the world.

The breath of your body rises and falls slowly.

The beauty that is in your hair is draped sweetly over your cheek.

The sweet heart I hear in your soul echoes the words you whisper to me in the night.

The world slowly wakes as it lets you slumber.

The dreams I know that pass through your mind are of peace love and us together forever.

The red softness of your lips I beg to touch again with mine when you wake.

The morning drifts on as a leaf across the pound as I lay next to you in wonder.

The touch of your skin against me breaks my soul to quiver as if I am only dreaming.

The fingers I feel tangled with mine are held tight to never let go and always protect.

The world will run on but I ask for this moment to never break for me there is only you and I.

The sleep you have will be of peace and comfort it will be my duty my honor to keep it safe for you.

Sleep now my love I will always hold you.
