Tonight I feel the oppressive weight of darkness
A blanket of silence and darkness covers me
The silence punctuated only by pain's staccato
Pain is now my companion, my bed mate
Tonight the pain pales in comparison to my longing
I miss all of you, the sound of you, your touch
The tears trail effortlessly, silently, as my heart cries
Loneliness can be felt physically, much like pain
Both refusing to be ignored, relentlessly present
Is it possible to drown in darkness, to just be lost?
Just as I imagine it, I feel you, your presence
Your love has invaded the darkness once again
Love, just like the other emotions, is physical
It cannot be ignored, it is alive inside me, a part of me
Even in the darkness, you refuse to let go of me
Always my life raft, holding me tight, keeping me safe
I reach for you in the darkness, knowing you're there
Grabbing you, I realize your love may be enough to save me
With all the worries of life, love simply has to be enough
If it's not, then what will save us from the darkness?
