The love junkie

The love junkie

For some the need of love becomes a driving force that destroys
This sweet addiction we call love

Burning into our lives out of control

Lust rages in our veins till we plunge the needle

A delightful rush of fire then all is well

Passion ignites

Desire blooms

Mad insane, it drives us to our doom

Hearts broken bursting at their seams

Too quick to believe as the addiction sets in

No fairy tale is this illusion made from

No prince waiting at the top of the steps

No knight in shining armor to whisk you away

Just a delicious tantalizing hunger to be fed

So intoxicating we would sell our souls to stop the agonizing pain

A virus consuming our very existence

We stumble around looking for a blissful solution as endorphins blaze through our system

With reckless abandonment we seek a fix

No clinic or pill, no support group on earth to help with the chills

No cure can be bought

Withdrawals can be deadly and swift

Eyes glaze, we tremble and shake with uncontrollable rage

We walk around in a disheveled state, mind and body out of sync

A shambling rambling wreck of rejection and doubt

We become love junkies

Such an exorbitant price tag on this addiction
