Blond hair flowed messily around my face. My tender sky blue eyes were fixed on his every movement. My lips were soft and plump, at a loss for words. I sat there across from him at a small table. A sleeveless dress relaxed on my round breasts, the red color shimmering brightly by candle light. In his eyes I was the most gorgeous woman he'd ever seen.
His short brown hair always made his ocean blue eyes stick out. The way his 5 o'clock shadow grew on his face always turned me on a little. His smile made my heart melt, his voice made my legs weak, his touch nearly paralyzed me.
"I love you, Taylor," the young man said, sliding his hand across the table to reach for mine. Our fingers intertwined and we both could feel a spark of some sort as they connected. It sent chills downs my body, giving me a surprised look on my face. Price shot a smile, thinking I was cute, and I blushed, forcing his smile to hit both ears.
"I love you too, Price." I smiled happy to have his hand in mine, it made me feel like tomorrow would never come. That there was some way, impossible, that he could stay in my arms forever. I knew that would never happen though, never how hard I prayed to the stars.
We stared deep in each others eyes for a long while, taking in everything we could. As I looked at him, I felt as if we were floating in complete blackness. My body was as light as a feather, the feeling was numbing, almost dead.
"This is our song," I whispered, coming out of my thoughts. I remembered all the old times when we listened to this.
A sly smile and Price stood up. He took a step toward me pulling me to my feet. "May I have this dance?" He bowed. I slightly nodded and walked into the living room with him. He lovingly place his hand on the small of my back, a perfect fit. I rested my head upon his chest and my other arm under the back of his neck.
Our bodies became one as we gracefully rocked back and forth on the floor. Hearing the soft beating of my lover's heart nearly brought me to tears. How do they expect me to live without him!? He's my love, they can't REALLY be taking him away from me, could they?
The thoughts that haunted me filled my mind, nerve racking, and tears showered down my pale skin.
A soft sob and Price had his finger under my chin, lifting my face to his. "Baby?" he whispered, "Everything will be fine, I promise." His soft lips pressed against my forehead, 1...2...3...4...
As he breathed he laid his cheek on my head. "I love you." Another simple kiss. "And that's all that matters."
I bobbed my head back and studied his face long and hard. It was tender and caring, as if it was meant for a baby. His eyes shimmered and I could see love in them, begging me to be happy.
Our bodies were still swaying as the song faded into silence. I couldn't help but let my mind creep to all the terrible things that could happen while he was over there. I wanted more than anything for his safety, but if I wasn't with him there really wasn't a thing I could do for him.
"I just want for your safety, to know that you WILL come home to me." I sobbed once more.
A soft chuckle escaped his lips. "The worst that could happen to me is stubbing my toe." He smiled and pulled me in for a passionate kiss. Our lips crashed hard against one anothers. The sweet scent of his skin intoxicated my brain, and I melted into his body. He held me up, still kissing me.
I felt his warm hands on the small of my back, his face centimeters from mine.
The blue of his eyes were hiding sadness and pain. His lips parted as if to say something, but they collapsed closed. His hands rubbed the line of my jaw, a soothing notion.
"I love you." I blinked, tears streaming down my face. His hands cupped around my face. His thumbs wiped them away, forcing me to look at him.
His lips parted once again, this time pressing hard against mine. His warm breath brushed over my skin. I threw arms around his neck, squeezing tightly, never wanting to let go.
My heart beat quickened, my breathing stopped. His hands pressed down tightly, holding me pinned to his chest. Tears flushed down my face again.
He pulled away slowly, still keeping his face close to mine.
"I love you too," he whispered.
I watched him as he walked away, rain already drenching his uniform. He turned around once more, I couldn't hold back. I ran to him, I couldn't let him leave me.
My arms flung around him as his did to me. "Please come home safe to me!" I sobbed. I pressed my face into his collar. His hand smoothed the back of my hair, his lips shushing me. I didn't ever want to leave his arms, they were all I knew. I couldn't go on without them.
"I promise." He kissed my forehead one last time. I knew I would miss cuddling him, hugging him, being with him.
I knew I would miss the lips of my soldier.
