He and Birddahl are the exact types that appeal to Barrack Obama. That leaves you scratching your head. Man they must have a great party together with that 15 million!

Nymphwriter this is a great post you started. Guns control by itself is not the answer. Although I think some of this heavy artillery should be possibly illegal to own. These mass killings are happening in gun free zones which make people more vulnerable to these attacks. We need to look to other countries on how to deal with this issues. In looking in comment areas on articles about this it becomes very obvious a lot of people feel Obama is clueless and they don't feel they can trust him to tell them the truth.

ISIS or Islamic terrorism is a game changer. The fact these people had remote controlled cars with their bombs lets you know they had more designs for their bombs. Then to think what the possibilities could be with drones if they decide to go that route. I don't know what the complete answer is with the borders, but to have laws at present that aren't being enforced is crazy. If the laws aren't good change them. These politicians are way to wrapped up poll numbers and not paying attention to our security. I voted for Obama the first time. The way I feel about him now is if you painted a few freckles on his face you would have a replication of "howdy dowdy".

This is Islamic terrorism. These people were on a mission. Who knows what else they had planned. They destroyed all their digital hardware shortly before their mission. There's obviously more people involved. They had a bomb factory in their garage. More than just these two were seen going into the garage. How many more operations like this are around the country. Being politically polite is not the answer. This is the reason Donald Trump's stock goes up and Obama's stock plummets. This is a huge problem and to be wrapped around climate change when we have issues like this is completely crazy. To call these people the JV team and saying he's contained then is also crazy. It's obvious why his approval ratings are in 30% ratings. It's time to get serious and for him to get out of the way and get somebody in charge that's willing to admit these are terrorist and set a plan on how to deal with it and it needs to start at our borders.

During the CNN GOP debate one of the contestants stated that G.W.Bush's last 3 months created Barrack Obama. Is it possible that Obama's 6 years has created Donald Trump?

Is it possible Hilliary is "black lives matter's choice" and they will go out of their way to disrupt anybody who is a threat to her campaign? Would other groups be allowed to disrupt Hilliary's campaign?

Posted 13 Dec 2014 11:26

Without a plan on how he is going to enforce the border on illegals or deportation of illegals his action will do nothing but encourage more illegals into our country. Funny how he could now do something he said before was not constitutionally legal. Looks like if you don't like a law you just ignore it. He's elevated himself to a level that one has to wonder why we need a congress.

I felt when Obama was elected we would see an improvement in race relations. Things have definitely gotten worse. I do not think cops behavior is any worse today than it was 10 years ago. Is it possible that Obama thrives on racial tensions? In almost all these cases his reactions seem to elevate tensions. Siding up with Al Sharpton seems to point the direction he wants to take this. I totally side with the people that hope for a day when we all look to each other as brothers and skin color makes no difference. We need leaders that represent the best for everyone and try to create a nation of peace we can all be proud of.

Topic Honestly... (Are YOU a little bit Racist?)
Posted 16 Aug 2014 13:44

Can a president have a motive to create racial division? Is possible he garners more political votes due the division? Instead of being a leader and calm tensions till the facts can get out he actuall adds to the tension with comments he makes. Instead of calling off protesters he allows hard core protesters to get invovled. Almost all these incidents end up having facts that prove these decissions weren't racially motivated.

Topic Farm Subsidies
Posted 05 Aug 2014 19:11

Does a government mandate qualify as a subsidy? Ethanol mandate currently drives the price of corn. EPA was set to lower the mandate rather than increase it. The outcry from farmers had them rethinking their strategy. Now EPA is looking to increase it. The main reason being is to help increase corn prices. This ultimately will force mandated levels increased in gasoline from 10% to 15% since the 10% blenders wall has been met. In 2015 Minnesota is mandating 20%. Car manufactures are threatening voiding vehicle warranties. Previous high corn prices have driven livestock producers out of business. Livestock levels are the lowest they have been since 1950. Ethanol replaces very little gasoline, makes food more expensive, and is dirtier than gasoline. Recent events in Ohio can be related to land runoffs from land used to produce corn. This whole program is propped up on political agenda. If this program was ended the environmental impact would be the same as taking over 5 million cars off the road. With this administration stance on climate change the right thing to do is to shut it down. Rather than prop up farmers in a program like this we would be better off if they shut this down but helped subsidize farmers in making an abundance of food at affordable pricing. From the fuel side of things this program does very little to cut our oil dependency. A lot of land has been taken out of set aside ultimately hurting the environment.

Monocle what you are doing is amazing. I know I need to do more. I have a hard time watching people driving SUV's and 4-wheel drive pickups when they hardly use them in 4-wheel drive. In our area this happens a lot. Watching a show recently that one the commentators felt in his opinion the pipeline will be approved before 2014 elections when Democrats can capture as much momentum as possible going into 2014 elections. I think he's right since their people basically are approving it.

Melman your right about the fact we as a country have done very little to lower our consumption of energy. How many people do we know driving vehicles getting 20mpg or less when most of us should be driving vehicles that get 30mpg or more? Hopefully this decision does have to wait till we have a huge disaster with a train derailment. People in the path of these trains are at a greater risk than most are aware of. It's easy for someone not in the path to try and shut it down, but if they care for other people we should be getting behind the pipeline. The tar sands is a Canadian issue that's pretty much out of our control.

Topic Canadian Oil and the XL Keystone Pipeline
Posted 03 Feb 2014 04:01

I don't think we know that much more about the pipeline today that we didn't know five years ago. We are not shutting down production just putting into place the best option. Safer ,cheaper and much more environmentally sound. We need to invest more in research of alternative fuels yet not push an alternative like corn ethanol which makes absolutely no sense(cost more, replaces very little oil and reeks havock on the environment). Is it possible there is money to be made on these permits and the administration is not getting what they want.

In our area it looks like rail has to be at near full capacity. So if volume increases they will probably need another means of transportation. It's clearly time for this administration give the people and answer and if it's a no what's the reason.

Topic Canadian Oil and the XL Keystone Pipeline
Posted 02 Feb 2014 08:37

Where is the oil shipped rail at present coming from? The oil produced in North Dakota needs to be dealt with. I don't think this is a Canadian only issue. Part of the pipeline is already built. Using the rail is by far the worst option of the two. A major disaster by rail is only waiting to happen. After the recent train derailment in North Dakota Warren Buffet was spotted investing in pipeline technoligy so there may be hope. It is time to quit kicking the can down the road. If you lived near one of the rails being used you would know what I mean. By far some of the largest shipments I have ever seen, by that I mean lots more tanks per trains and more trains in number.

Topic Canadian Oil and the XL Keystone Pipeline
Posted 02 Feb 2014 07:07

It's currently being shipped rail big time with a much larger impact to the environment and safety is a concern in the areas these trains travel. The fact that Warren Buffet is heavily invested in the rail system tells me Barrack's not going to let it happen. When cost and safety is weighed in the pipeline is a no brainer. The jobs might as well stay here verses shipping them overseas.

Was watching a program on the public channel where Pat Moyer was roasting a Republican Governor for the state cuts he was making, easy to criticize but the cuts need to start somewhere. We don't need to turn the government into another Detroit. A equally challenging documentary could have been made on Detroit and what their past leadership has done.

Monocle if Obama doesn't pull a carrot out his hat 20 trillion of debt is a given that you pretty much have to agree with. I have two sixteen year olds and I asked them how this could be dealt with and they figure it's out of control. What's your solution?

Monocle your so quick to define a lie, but you know it's taught me to do a better job of fact checking and to not talk off memory as much. My major concern as noted many times is the debt this president will leave this country and this has been a major stumbling block in congress. Your saying when Obama made his famous quotes on the debt he had no clue how bad it was yet 2009 is when he made the quote about cutting the deficit in half. That was four years ago and I have yet to see a single attempt to lower it. If 9 trillion was a massive debt what's 20 trillion. Like the man from California that talked about the experience he and his girlfriend were having with Obamacare this creates a cheerleading base if your one of the people subsidized. Who ever runs in 2016 this has to be at the top of the list of issues they will have to deal with.

It's interesting to go back a play his youtube speeches(Obama). In 2008 he talks about how unpatriotic it was for Bush to raise the debt from 5 trillion to 9 trillion in 8 years yet over his term he will raise it to over 20 trillion(more than double and two and half times what Bush added during his 8 years). Monocle is right I misquoted he was going to cut the deficit in half and not leave our children that large debt load. At some point our children will not see this all that funny.

I never liked the war in Iraq nor do I like the fact that Obama expanded the war in Afghanistan. Terrorism will exist in too many locations for us to extinguish it. It's a well known fact Obama swore he would cut the debt in half. It would be a success if just one year during his presidency he balanced it, that means adding zero to the debt. With his programs there's no way it happens. So I see that comment having about as much value as the ones he's made for Obamacare.

Do you think if your a parent to one of the four Americans killed in the attack you deserve an answer to some of the obvious questions? Than to have Hillary at a congressional meeting make the comment "what difference does it make" when she was in a position to deliver the answers to these questions. Who ever wins the next election is going to find themselves in a very difficult position with this country being more than likely over 20 trillion in debt behind a president that promised to cut it in half and totally belittled the president before him for what he did to the debt. Hope and change is more than likely the main theme for who ever runs. Republicans will always be criticized for holding back congress but when you look at our debt level the reason is pretty obvious people will wonder why they didn't do more.
