Topic Who do you attract?

I attracted one very amazing woman who obviously was having a weak moment. She looked down through the cracks in my bridge and beckoned me out. Since then she has let me detail her car a couple of times and pick up her dry cleaning. True love.

Damn you guys put a lot of thought in to all this. And now I feel kind of dumb because I just came here to find a nice girl to lick my balls and throat my dick.

PM Jack. He has connections.

You have a point. But then, it's their decisions that cause the feeling of injustice triggering all these threads. And to those that claim, only a few care about it, I'd say look at the poll. It barely exists two days, and already over 45 people have voted thus far. Compared to the number of members, that may be very few, but if you look at the number of active posters in the Think Tank, which is what this is all about, it probably is a pretty fair representation. Of those voters, 54%, an absolute majority, agree that trolling should not be allowed.

Ironically I would have thought the percentage would have been higher. I don't believe anyone disputes that trolling should not be allowed. The dispute is the subjective interpretation of what trolling is versus poking you with a stick.

There is a big difference between showing your gun and firing it. Again, having heated discussions often involve tempers and momentary lapses of judgement. An open forum will also involve some caustic personalities and people you will never invite to Thanksgiving dinner. But just because they are a pain in the ass sometimes and often very awkward to communicate with, it doesn't constitute trolling as I see it. Methinx you may see it differently. Gotta love debate.

Nobody was dragged into this thread. Everyone who added to it, chose to do so by his/her own free will.

Well, I would suggest that being criticized and/or suggested that in some manner they were remiss in their responsibilities, and then having them post a rebuttal, could more likely be considered being dragged in as opposed to free will. Even if such initial original maker comments were later better qualified.

Um no.

If a certain mod starts pretending to be Kelly Price again I'll drag her cat fishing ass all over the forum.

You are a dynamic personality with a lot of spirit Jack. I'm not sure why Kelly Price was an issue to be addressed. A breeze will lift a kite. A hurricane will knock it down. I would put money down that if you focused all of that energy you could keep kites flying all over this place.

Entertainment at its finest. Watching all of you is like watching chaos swirl down a funnel and pour out this amazing kaleidoscope of colors and tastes. Like siblings fighting over a favorite toy or wetting the bed and blaming the other. But in the end most of you would give the shirt off your back if needed.

In the brave new world of internet anonymity there will always be pretenders, always be trolls, and always be those of us who wish their lives could be as they want it and not how it really is. In every orgy someone always has to be a butt plug. That's life. Imagine how dull the orgy would be without at least one butt plug.

So here's my take. Keep your comments in the forums and it's all give and take. Bring it to my PM and it will become an issue. That is much different.

One last request.. can we PLEASE all agree to stop dragging the mods into the threads as if they somehow are responsible for every hurt feeling or perceived insult since the beginning of time. If anyone gets a pass, it's them.

Topic Do you use the forums regularly? Or do you prefer to stay away and why? Free form discussion
Posted 13 May 2016 08:54

I used to post in the forums a lot back in the day. Now I mostly read and hover silently a pace or two into the shadows. I enjoy the rich pageantry of people at their best and at their not so best. I see strengths and weaknesses in all of you. I long ago recognized my own. We are imperfect carbon based life forms designed to copulate, dominate or submit. It is those 3 criteria that control nearly every interaction. The words we use in these forums twist and twine within those criteria and often become subjective and wrongly interpreted. The lack of eye contact and body language also interferes with the intended meaning of our words. Thus, I have chosen to reside in quiet shadows as opposed to enduring the blinding flashes of rattling sabers.

My answer to the OP is no, I don't venture into the forums much anymore. But when I do, I come in peace, with a simple caution. The old bear still has some bite left.

I guess you could call me a troll for lack of anything better. It would be disappointing because I was going for the hybrid olive branch in one hand and machete in the other tattooed priest bad-ass biker dude effect.

Out of 8 billion people on earth, there are only 2 or 3 who have the slightest chance of hitting my nerve. Nope. I just checked. You aren't one of them. I do however respect your right to have an opinion about me and will gladly serve you a chicken dinner.

My apologies for my segue and intrusion of the main topic. On with the show!

I don't believe I've ever even visited a chatroom. I'm not a big participant in the forums as you can tell from my paucity of posts. I generally just read what everybody else has to say and shrug. Occasionally I will venture out from under the bridge and offer a vaguely relevant response with usually my version of not-taking-myself-seriously humor added. If I crack me up that's all that counts.

I've always accepted these forums as a place for free-for-all thinking and expressions of subjective opinions. By default, that will always breed debate and highlight individual values.

Without being critical and/or accusatory, I am a little confused by the members who keep entering into these lively debates and insisting that such debates be halted in what they perceive to be the name of decency and appropriate behavior in society. It isn't like they are trapped on a bus and must listen to the person next to them. Just get up and move to another seat. If they walked up to a group of people having a conversation, would they insist that such conversation be directed in a manner more pleasing to them? Just move away.
Even if they were designated to sit around a table with others and enter into a conversation about palm trees, would they insist on everyone else talking about their favorite spruce instead? Just move to another table.

My point, which I tend to drag out because, well, I can, is that there are many forums here on Lush. A cornucopia of subject matter. Just move to one of them. All threads eventually wind down and die on their own. Euthanasia is necessary only in the most extreme circumstances.

Please understand, I haven't detailed anything above that I don't already do myself. I'm funny that way. If I'm someplace I don't want to be.. I just move.

'nuff said.. back under my bridge..

I wonder how many online scammers and con artists are writing down the names of the people offering condolences in this thread. "Dear so and so, my poor lesbian girlfriend, who I cured with my penis, died yesterday right before we were supposed to do our very first video chat. Unfortunately we were very poor and don't have money for a proper funeral like she deserves. Any little bit helps. Please, so we can just get past this tragedy. When her life insurance kicks in I will send you back 200 for every 100 you can donate. God bless. <3"

So let me get this straight.. they ran out of programs at the front desk.. it's about censorship.. but not.. the mods are really good.. maybe.. Nicola has a successful adult site.. but it needs a complete overhaul.. there is some debate about the thickness of Patokl's skin.. Sprite is a cat.. but Felix isn't.. and Lusty_Linda is really Wayne.. living with a house full of people who use his pc.. but he has a magic IP decoder ring that can fool even the CIA..

Damn.. I gotta drop by more often.. you guys know how to throw a party.. are there any of those little tiny sammiches with the crust cut off left?

Topic Heaven or Hell?
Posted 27 Apr 2016 17:33

There is an old saying.. I don't want to go to heaven because nobody I know will be there. Obviously the connotation of heaven or hell signifies that there is an actual place you will go. Will we all really get wings or horns? What if my heaven is a never-ending threesome and yours is quoting scripture endlessly? One of us is going to be distracted.

So here is my take. No God. No Devil. No heaven. No hell. Just us.

There's one sentence that explains why some forum posts are deleted and threads locked: some people are just boring old farts.

When I say boring old farts, I'm referring to those who want to discuss what they ate for dinner, or the last time they had a wank, or the last song they listened to. IT'S FUCKING BORING.

You get one or two of these boring old farts complain that a thread has "run its course" or has become "tedious", then a boring old fart on the forum mod team comes along (I'm not saying they're all boring, just a few -- a small minority) picks up on it and starts deleting posts and then locks the thread. Too many posts are being deleted and too many threads locked.

Some people desire something more intense, more passionate. Some people are deep thinkers and crave controversy, a little more than the usual mundane shit.

I'll say it one last time: YOU HAVE TO TAKE OTHER PEOPLE'S WANTS AND DESIRES INTO ACCOUNT -- NOT JUST YOUR OWN.

Let us young people discuss what we want, in our own way, and have a laugh in the process, while the fuddy-duddies and OAPs harp on about the weather and their current mood.

Cater for us all, not just a select few. Let's make Lush a community for everybody, a place where we can all go and have fun, no matter who we are or what we desire.

EVERYBODY IS DIFFERENT. CATERING FOR EVERYBODY'S NEEDS IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS.

lol. Well, as one of the "boring old farts" I suppose, I don't know why my dinner of meatloaf, lima beans, macaroni salad and green jello squares with pears isn't interesting as hell to everyone. Or the last time I had a wank was for the fifth time yesterday. But the real thriller is I just listened to Burl Ives version of "Jimmy Crack Corn". Given all that, I find the adventures of you young'uns quite entertaining and would never ask for a thread to be terminated. So carry on you wild and crazy kids!

There's a reason I try to stay in the shadows and rarely step out into the light. It's because of threads like this. They become sticky thorny tentacles wrapping themselves around you until anything you say only squeezes you tighter. It becomes a train wreck you just can't turn away from.

Having been a Lush member longer than all of you, I have seen and experienced every single thing that has been mentioned. It isn't pleasant to feel singled out, or called names, or get run over by "peers". It also isn't pleasant to have a life threatening disease, be jobless, be homeless, or any other circumstance far more important than being called a name. Now before you draw your saber and accuse me of questioning someone's integrity, I'm not. I'm questioning the manner in which they prioritize.

The mods on Lush are volunteer members who do thankless work and are often treated ungraciously. I for one do not want them to be robotic censors who control every thought or action. The rules and guidelines are boundaries that we all must play within, and it is a testament to the mods that they are flexible and allow some silliness now and then. Hell if I do have a complaint about them it would have to be every time I got a piece rejected because I left out a comma or forgot to dot an i.

Now to my point. My old jaundiced eyes have read every post in this thread, and I see three things that standout boldly. First, there is obviously tension between a few of you on here that keeps the embers glowing. Second, it seems that the members who want to change the way things are done on Lush are the newest members. A couple of years gives you credibility but it doesn't make you authorities on how to run a successful adult site. Lastly, it also seems that the members complaining the most about hurt feelings are the most outspoken and in-your-face type personalities. None of them appear to be humble wallflowers. I would think that when there is more than one dog in the fight, everyone gets bit.

I completely agree that there are unpleasant members on Lush. Just as there are unpleasant people every day in our lives. It's a natural order of things. No good without bad. No light without dark. The best way to deal with those members you don't like is not to deal with them. At some point they will have burned every bridge and there won't be anywhere else for them to go. If a troll gets fed they will stay until the food runs out.

'nuff said. Back to my shadows.

I came here a long time ago. Late 2009 I think. Could be wrong. I'm old. Wmm.. Milik.. Dirtymartini.. BlackVelvet.. 'ol timers all. We jested and jousted and had some heated debates even back then. But the one thing that everyone had in common is we never took ourselves too seriously.

As I've read through these last 10 pages or so of posts, I see the same thing as back then. A lot of good-natured pokes and making fun of each other. I think that's a reflection on the flexibility and wisdom of the mods. Being on an adult site and interacting with others is like being in a bounce house. Sometimes you're going to bump heads. That being said, there are some who come here with more intent than that and it has been my experience that the mods and alumni are pretty well able to ferret those clowns out and send them on their way.

With regard to the OP.. all is fair.. whether or not someone crosses over a line is in the opinion of the receiver, not the giver. How you respond is on you. 'nuff said..

If enjoying the nature of a heated debate is what you're after, then a thin skin is like going into a sword fight without a shield. I have two rules I follow. Consider the source is one. The other is.. when talking to a fool, make sure he isn't doing the same thing.

Topic Who do I contact about a mistake I found?
Posted 04 Apr 2016 08:21

In my opinion, bad writing is a subjective opinion and not a relevant standard for everyone. Expression of notions and ideas will come in various forms and manner and should be enjoyed as the author intended. English is an imperfect language. We all make the best of it as we can. Trial and error is part of the process. Good luck on your writing. Look forward to reading your work.

Topic Should creationism be taught in schools?
Posted 21 Mar 2015 14:12

I would differ with the view that creationism is not a religion. It has no basis other than that. Evolution on the other hand is observable every moment of the day by intelligent people who understand that evolution means "to evolve." Teaching creationism in school is akin to teaching comic book super heroes as legitimate beliefs.

The problem that most people have is that they limit their belief to life here on earth, without consideration that life may have evolved elsewhere and spread to here. An open mind is exactly what creationism tries to obliterate.

Topic Do you match your boyfriend's (or gf's) "type"?
Posted 17 Jan 2014 10:03
