I have plenty of hobbies. Unfortunately for you, one of the them is detecting contradictions and pointing them out to the people who employ them. I do this so they can do what rational people do when they discover that their belief is a contradiction, admit it and change their mind. Some people like having the opportunity to rid their beliefs of contradictions. Others binky.

hahahaha... I don't know how you got all pumped up with yourself but nothing surprises me anymore.. I think it's important for your growth as a person to understand that people don't owe you an explanation about how they drink their coffee in the morning.. much less justify or explain their positions on larger issues.. it's obvious you feel that you have a calling to encourage discussion for the sake of informative socialization but to be blunt you are merely oppositional and argumentative.. and your constant prattle is akin to listening to tennis shoes in a dryer.. I think you might have a lot to say.. but whether or not people will listen depends on how you present it.. it's a harsh world out there my friend.. in here we play nice.. 'nuff said...

Sheesh 1ball.. you really need a hobby.. ok.. one last lesson and then the book is closed.. your manner of debate is an old high school technique whereby you break out smaller points and attack them rather than address the bigger picture.. it was called distraction of facts.. you've made several claims that are either incorrect or misleading.. however it doesn't really matter because your main goal in all of this is to see more boobies on the sidewalk in front of your apartment.. and on a site that is specifically adult and sexual in content you'll have minimal opposition.. certainly not from me anyways.. I've made my point clear in every post just as PersonalAssistant did.. however you seem bent on inciting debate where there is none.. I think we both believe in the same thing.. just for different reasons.. what say we leave it at that?

My apologies to FantasyFiction and others for seemingly hijacking this discussion by jousting with 1Ball.. I shall endeavor to keep my final response short and to the point..

I have never said at any point that I wish to deny the rights of women to go topless.. in fact if you read my responses again you'll find that I have supported equal rights in that regard.. while you continue to trumpet the bare-breast movement as an individual right, I think most people see it as a high school keg party Hustler magazine fantasy.. boobies.. yawn!! as for reasons to consider not going topless as a practice I would think line of employment such as heavy machinery.. jobs that require focus or attention.. or parent/teacher meetings at your child's school.. further you keep citing the Constitution and governmental excess as a valid marker in your argument regarding rights.. I believe I have answered and defused all of your arguments earlier.. In closing I will say one last time.. women should be entitled to every right a man has and some in addition due to their gender.. if going topless is a big issue for any Lush women I am happy to cast my vote on their behalf.. I also offer my services as a lactation coach and sunscreen applicator..

This could get deeply philosophical, but here goes. A man alone in nature has a right to all things, because he has a right to life and "all things" is the realm where he finds the things he uses for survival. When you introduce another person, he has a right to all things which the other doesn't have a prior valid claim on. The other has a right to anything he has a prior valid claim on. You can set a dress code for your house, because it is yours and you have a prior valid claim. But in order to have a right to tell a woman she must not go topless in public, you have to cite a valid right to something that would be violated by her toplessness. What is that?

A man alone in nature? All things perfect? Utopia? That isn't philosophical it's a pipe dream.. we have to live in the real world with real world issues.. it's an imperfect system in an imperfect world.. do you really believe that by relying on the character and nature of those you want to give unrestricted rights to it will improve rather than deteriorate? I've already stated that I believe men and women are created equal and by default are deserving of equal rights.. going topless may be one of those if so chosen.. but I also said along with those rights comes a responsibility to guard against abuse.. and in every case known there are extremists who will foul the pool for others.. I don't dispute your premise.. just your imbalance of enthusiasm..

we all know that is a nonsense argument brought out every time someone wants to trumpet a proposal that might not be universally accepted..

Silly me. I thought we all knew that reason trumps what we all know, because people will routinely use reason to determine what overly controlling laws to violate and when. Remember the lesson from Prohibition? We also know that other societies will become more competitive if we stupidly restrict harmless behavior.

Prohibition wasn't about anyone's rights.. it was about money.. governments move towards taxation.. and the ill-gotten gains to avoid those taxes.. read your history.. on the other hand.. the words "government control" is one of those buzz connotations that incite emotional discomfort in most educated people.. so using them is often suspect..

we all pay a price to live and survive in a civilized society..

And we pay a bigger price when we enforce laws that have no business being laws. And we pay a price having such laws on the books even when we don't enforce them, because people feel oppressed by the possibility of enforcement and where people feel oppressed, they invest less.

We all agree that there are ridiculous laws set in place by our government with little review or say by the people.. and even more ridiculous standards that society sets in place depending upon who is a majority of self-serving self-righteous flag bearers in a community.. but once again.. we aren't men alone in nature as you cited..

some will pay more than others.. and it is naive to act surprised by that..

What is the relevance of that?

It is relevant only from the standpoint of realizing that in order to make a change.. you have to see how things really are.. and not how you want them to be..

I'm old enough to remember when women were burning bras and men where burning draft cards and there was talk of an equal rights amendment to the Constitution. There is always a price for controls and it seems never an accounting for that price. Controls are what government does, but government's only real purpose is to enable productivity, so any control that has an adverse effect on productivity is dangerous. The entire class of gender-based controls (without a rights justification) falls into that dangerous category, because systemically keeping women more controlled than men limits their competitiveness in the labor pool. That's why I ask, "What right trumps the woman's right to do what she wants?". So far, nobody has had a valid answer for that.

I'm not sure what validation would be acceptable to you.. there is no right ensuring that anyone can do anything they want.. you say you have a right as a man to go topless.. not in my living room you don't.. that's where your right ends and mine begin.. the point being that having rights works both for you and against you.. and as far as governmental controls.. we all know that is a nonsense argument brought out every time someone wants to trumpet a proposal that might not be universally accepted.. in any case.. we all pay a price to live and survive in a civilized society.. some will pay more than others.. and it is naive to act surprised by that..

I'm old enough to remember when women had to wear dresses below their knees and were restricted from wearing pants except at leisure times.. I also remember equal rights battles both racial and gender based.. this issue seems trivial in comparison and hardly worth the saber rattling that some have gotten into.. my response is that women should have every right that a man has.. and in some cases more rights because of gender, ie breastfeeding, etc... the problem arises when rights are issued unfettered with conditions.. it leaves society in the position of having to depend on the integrity, common sense, and dignity of those who enact their rights.. controls are a necessary evil.. not because of the many.. but because of the few..

I've found that as long as I keep the flow to a minimum I can continue and give myself a chance at re-filling without breaking the momentum.. it seems easier for me to release a small amount and continue rather than shutting it down and starting again.. I haven't noticed a difference in supply at the final release so don't know if it matters.. either way it works for you I guess..

Seriously? No matter which side of the argument you think fits this situation, it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy by your own actions.. this idea that people should stay in their own category of hotness is a load of crap.. Shylass has it right.. everyone should just be themselves with the expectation that happiness is where you find it.. it is shallow indeed to think that looks alone is all it takes for some of you to go to bed.. at some point you're going to have to engage in actual conversation and what looked like a 9 when you took your clothes off suddenly becomes a 4.. anyways.. bless those of us who are outside the circle and dare to put a foot in.. don't give up on your friend Volition.. she might surprise you..

Topic Death Penalty. For or Against.
Posted 25 Jun 2012 08:39

Good arguments.. all of them have their points.. but I think in my opinion it comes down to basic human nature as it currently stands.. first, there is no such thing as a jury of your peers.. if there was, the attorneys would just have to accept the names of the pool as drawn and forego all of the legal gamesmanship to stack the deck in their favor.. secondly, I've been on several jury pools.. two of them death penalty cases.. and the pool of people I got to associate with for the most part were uneducated, biased, and overall easily led by their emotions.. I couldn't help but think.. I wouldn't even let some of them tell me how I take my coffee in the morning and they are going to decide on the guilt or innocence of someone.. seriously? peers?.. third, we have to do something.. warehousing criminals is insane.. they should be put in compounds and farm our deserts for food.. dig irrigation systems.. build roads.. earn their way back into society by giving back to society.. and lastly, death is a necessary punishment for that segment of society who willfully committed a heinous crime involving torture, murder, rape, gang activity, or violence against women or children.. and as I said in an earlier post it needs to be done in a timely manner and in a style which sends shock and awe to the masses.. being "put to sleep" 20 years after you committed the crime is hardly a deterrent.. but being flown in a plane and dropped kicking and screaming into a live volcano might get someone's attention.. and if it doesn't.. well.. I'll come up with something better.. it's all about setting examples.. learning and making better choices.. not about retribution..

Topic Death Penalty. For or Against.
Posted 22 Jun 2012 14:12

I'm probably gonna catch a lot of heat for this.. but I favor the death penalty.. just not the clean sanitized "G" rated version after two decades of appeals and millions of dollars in tax payer monies.. the death penalty will never be a deterrent until we put the 'horror' back into the termination of life for persons who commit violent crimes..

Topic Smoking Bad, or Good?

The original question required a single word response: good or bad. I answered the OP's question with one word, then I noticed your expanded upon reply, to which I replied.

You claimed that it's invasive, thereby hinting at your environment being impinged or polluted - which I answered by mentioning your contributions to the pollution quagmire we all contribute to or benefit from. You also stated that all moronic smokers should be forced to smoke with a carton of cigarettes planted up their rectum, to which I replied about shoving your opinion up your self-righteous ass.

Now you reply with question marks designed to feign ignorance of what my comments toward you implied. lol We are delighted to learn that at age 63 (or however old you are) you've never done anything which other people might judge as borderline to flat out - insane.

You don't really follow arguments or retorts well, do you? Unless you were/are trolling.

My apologies for talking over your head, if you were not trolling. Please carry on.

Get back on your meds WMM.. you're going over the top on this.. my comment was made in reference to all smokers as a general group with an attempt at metaphoric humor thrown in.. obviously this is a subject near and dear to your heart and the humor was lost in translation.. and in your nicotine delirium your response is to mount an attack on me personally.. to be honest I expected more from the WMM I used to know.. so here's my suggestion.. rather than distract others who have genuine interest in this thread it would probably be better that you just send me a personal message.. so sit down and relax.. have a couple of ice cold Jager shots.. smoke a pack or two.. lick an ashtray.. then fire away with both barrels.. I can take it..

So is driving your automobile and polluting the entire landscape. I don't suggest however that we shove an exhaust pipe down your throat even though you will drive your 4, 6, 8, 12 cylinder by me and pretend that I'm not offended (or not even give a fuck).

Seriously... I smoke and I have for nearly 40 years, but I've never smoked where it is common knowledge that someone should not. Outdoors there are so many other toxic and offensive odors and intoxicants that I'm offended that you're not offended at every fucking thing else in the air (which you probably contribute to or benefit from) and don't complain about...but point out to me that I'm killing you.

Go fuck your righteous self.

???? The original question was about smoking, not the environment of the world around me.. I assure you that I do have some self-righteous opinions about them too.. the easiest issue to resolve though is the personal habit of smoking.. in any event.. after 40 years of smoking nothing I say will make you understand the absolute insanity of what you do.. so I won't waste my good breath on your bad.. and thank you for not smoking where you shouldn't..
