About Whitebeard

I am a retired medical professor but now I write.
I've heard it said many times that everyone has a book in them, so I didn't start calling myself a writer until the second one was published.

I write all the time, mostly vanilla but sometimes I get erotic ideas and in the past these have languished on my hard drive. A few have been swapped in chat with friends over the years, but mostly they have just sat on the hard drive. I joined here to give them an airing. My thanks to anyone who has read what I've posted so far, and especial thanks to those who have scored or commented on a story.

Recently, thanks to the stimulation of being on Lush, I have taken to writing more experimental erotic stories. I enjoy imagining characters in situations that don't quite fit the standard stereotypes, or who venture across boundaries. I have also tried to address things like bullying and the unsafe decisions that people sometimes make when they are arounsed or sexually obsessed.

Always happy to talk about writing and I love to chat with other writers.

I did an MA in creative writing last year. I work with some friends to run a small (very small that is) publishing company — all our books so far are novel, short stories and poetry, all vanilla.

Writing. I know that sounds boring, I guess reading comes in there somewhere. I do sometimes ski, I swim now and then, have been known to take an occasional holiday, sometimes at nudist venues - the usuals stuff, but mostly I write. I do ski now and then but if I say that I have written two novels on skiing holidays, you get the picture.

Topic: Mac software for grammar
Posted: 08 Oct 2018 01:48

I've done similar hunting. I've tried Grammarly, Hemmingway and Prowritingaid. As far as I can see if you want any depth of analysis you end up with tool that have to connect to the interenet. Without going into it, my guess is that they must use some big databases to compare what you write with masses of others. If all that was downpoaded to a Mac it woyld probably take a long time to update all the time and chew up a lot of memory. Not a lot of help, but that's what I've found so far. I did an MA in creative wriing as well, though that's more expensive than the software possibilities.

Happy Birthday Chris. Sorry not to be able to produce beautiful graphics, but happy birthday anyway. I have very much appreciated your stoies and your comments since I have been on here. I'm glad to have the chance to wish you well.

The Script

June opened the envelope because it had her name on it. That was unusual for an envelope that looked like business post; those were always addressed to David. The other thing that made it stand out was its size, a bulky A4 envelope, more like a mail order magazine than a letter. She slit it open and dumped the contents on the kitchen table. A CD and a thick pile of printed paper with...

Getting out of the Rut Chapter 17

Carol's Story If you’ve read the story so far you probably have very mixed feelings about me, I put Chris through a lot and there are days when I still feel guilty. It's taken a while to get to a place where I can write this. I haven't had sex with anyone other than Chris in six months but some things I did still play on my mind at dark moments. I’ve told Chris everything— sometimes...

Getting out of the Rut chapter 16

Carol the teacher I set all the cameras running and uploading to the cloud. I assumed that Carol realised what I was planning, but I figured I would call her once I'd talked to the boy and knew he was not backing out. Driving over there I almost backed out myself. I could have told Carol he’d got cold feet, it’s not as though he was likely to push things. All I had to do was call him...

Getting Out Of The Rut Chapter 15

Coming home After breakfast, Carol insisted on a whole ritual of putting me into chastity. I felt cheated and maybe that was obvious. Certainly, Andrea looked a little guilty but Carol kept at it. I realised that if I objected too much then it was bound to be like a put down for Carol. I had to choose between humiliating her or humiliating me; well, you can guess which way I went. It...

Getting out of the Rut Chapter 14

More games I tend to sleep in stretches an hour or two at a time. The first time I woke I was disoriented. It took a minute before I knew where I was. I looked at my phone and it was three a.m. Andrea was fast asleep. My phone showed one dot of signal but it disappeared as I watched. At least my movie and text from earlier in the evening had actually gone. When it went--or more...

Getting out of the Rut Chapter 13

Who is playing whom? When we started to dress for dinner Carol insisted that I wore something that would work if we went out. "I thought we were having dinner and then coming back here." "Well yeah, I guess," she said, "but I don't know how fast she'll want to be, you know she might want to go to a club or something to get in the mood." "So anything goes?" "Well yeah, I guess, sort of."...

Getting Out Of The Rut Chapter 12

Carol finding her way We held hands all the way back from the Chinese restaurant, walking in step leaning on each other now and then. These were back streets in a dirty city but somehow the light seemed softer, less frightening, like we were in a world of our own. Any other day I’d have been looking for trouble, I mean you never know, do you. In the back of my mind, I’m sure I’d have...

Getting Out Of The Rut Chapter 11

What is a cage for? I don’t know what time Carol disengaged herself, I was sound asleep, but she was awake before me. The shower woke me so I threw back the duvet and sat up enough to inspect the damage. Carol came rushing out of the shower, throwing a towel onto the floor so she didn’t soak the carpet. “What’s the emergency?” I said. “I want to see.” “What’s so exciting about a...

Getting out of the Rut Chapter 10

Pushing and pulling   "Well?" Carol said when we made it to the room. "You want to see some of the movies?" "I don't think so, maybe save them for a day when we need a laugh?" I chuckled. "Did you know about the camera under the bed." That brought out a giggle in Carol. "What did it see?" "Mostly Eddie's leaking cock while he was working on the lock. The best part was recording...

Getting Out Of The Rut Chapter 9

Carol leads the way It took seconds to shut down my kit and in another minute there was a knock on the connecting door. I rolled the dessert trolly to the door and opened it. Carol stood grinning at me. “Your order ma’am,” I said. “I know this is kinda crazy but there’s a lot of food here that could go to waste. I... thought maybe you might need to get some energy back.” I glanced...
