About Whitebeard

I am a retired medical professor but now I write.
I've heard it said many times that everyone has a book in them, so I didn't start calling myself a writer until the second one was published.

I write all the time, mostly vanilla but sometimes I get erotic ideas and in the past these have languished on my hard drive. A few have been swapped in chat with friends over the years, but mostly they have just sat on the hard drive. I joined here to give them an airing. My thanks to anyone who has read what I've posted so far, and especial thanks to those who have scored or commented on a story.

Recently, thanks to the stimulation of being on Lush, I have taken to writing more experimental erotic stories. I enjoy imagining characters in situations that don't quite fit the standard stereotypes, or who venture across boundaries. I have also tried to address things like bullying and the unsafe decisions that people sometimes make when they are arounsed or sexually obsessed.

Always happy to talk about writing and I love to chat with other writers.

I did an MA in creative writing last year. I work with some friends to run a small (very small that is) publishing company — all our books so far are novel, short stories and poetry, all vanilla.

Writing. I know that sounds boring, I guess reading comes in there somewhere. I do sometimes ski, I swim now and then, have been known to take an occasional holiday, sometimes at nudist venues - the usuals stuff, but mostly I write. I do ski now and then but if I say that I have written two novels on skiing holidays, you get the picture.

Topic: Mac software for grammar
Posted: 08 Oct 2018 01:48

I've done similar hunting. I've tried Grammarly, Hemmingway and Prowritingaid. As far as I can see if you want any depth of analysis you end up with tool that have to connect to the interenet. Without going into it, my guess is that they must use some big databases to compare what you write with masses of others. If all that was downpoaded to a Mac it woyld probably take a long time to update all the time and chew up a lot of memory. Not a lot of help, but that's what I've found so far. I did an MA in creative wriing as well, though that's more expensive than the software possibilities.

Don't Shoot the Messenger Chapter 14

Messenger 14 “Do you know where Anthony is?” Julie asked. “No,” Laura shrugged. "I know where he was; but he could be anywhere now." “Anywhere?” “Anywhere within a hundred miles of where I left him. Can't you track him with your phone?” “He left his phone at the office." "Why do you need to find him. He's coming back." “Are you sure? I mean how am I to know?" “He is coming back....

Don't Shoot the Messenger Chapter 13

Anthony's message I took your advice. By now you should have a message from the office, so I hope this isn't a surprise. I don't know how long I'll be away, a few days at most. I had a long chat with Laura. Sending her was a good idea, though she may not think so. She did her best but it made me feel confused. I haven't got the hang of this recreational thing. She says I need...

Don't Shoot the Messenger Chapter 12

As Adrian left, George looked lost. "So it's you and me for the night?" he said, hesitating, struggling to make eye contact. "Seems like it. Are you okay with that?" "I'm not losing her am I?" George was still naked from the shower, his cock hanging limp but still large with Mary's marks visible. "You'll have her back before those rings wear off. Don't fret. Right now she's working...

Don't Shoot the Messenger Chapter 11

Julie had turned up the sound to listen to Adrian and Annette. As Adrian came into his own and began to really perform, Julie lay back in the chair smiling, a strange ecstasy creeping over her, pride, a sense of achievement, seeing her pupils succeeding. “Wow,” she breathed as the pair of them went from one hot moment to the next. “I am going to love paying Adrian, he’s earned it.” ...

Don't Shoot the Messenger Chapter 10

George had never led a woman by a leash. If you have to learn how to do it in five seconds flat then having the woman wear a blindfold is a good start. He knew Annette was watching, so he had to do it right, but he dared not look at his wife for approval. He had to walk the whole way as though his performance was being judged, forcing himself to act as though he was paying no attention to...

Don't Shoot the Messenger Chapter 9

There were two almost identical bedrooms, each with a big double bed and their own ensuite bathroom. Between the two was a living area with a small kitchen, providing a social space between the bedrooms and ensuring a certain amount of soundproofing if one or other couple got noisy. The living area had a couple of couches, a big TV, and two armchairs. After the session with Adrian, Julie...

Don't Shoot the Messenger Chapter 8

"Well?" said Julie when Anthony put the letter down, "what do you think?" "It's indefensible behaviour." "You mean the cop?" "Yes,” he said. “I'm so glad we got Adrian off. That makes me feel a lot better but it's obviously left a mess. What are you going to do?" "I have a wild idea that I think might work. I can't involve you because you were Adrian's lawyer. It needs some planning and...

Don't Shoot the Messenger Chapter 7

Laura closed her eyes, sat back into her chair, opened her eyes, looked at the ceiling, back to Julie and then to the floor. "You’ve never thought about it before?" said Julie. "No," Laura said. "No I haven’t. I kind of always thought I’d meet someone and it would be obvious and until then I’d try everything. How did you decide?" "To marry Anthony?" "Well yes, both actually, Anthony,...

Don't Shoot the Messenger Chapter 6

Julie let Laura pick a dress from her wardrobe, a move that enabled what Julie intended as a quick conversation. Laura refused an offer of clean underwear. "Fair enough," said Julie, "it’ll all come off when we get to the studio. Can you drive? Drive my car I mean, you know where we have to go." "Why?" "I think Anthony may need a cuddle." "And you don’t want me to do that?" Julie...

Don't Shoot the Messenger Chapter 5

There is something inevitable about the way the male bladder works when stimulated by enough alcohol. Anthony stirred at about five am, needing to pee but still mostly asleep. Julie, in the spare room, was woken by his footsteps as he crept to the main bathroom.   He's trying not to wake Laura, she thought, not using the en-suite. She lay still wondering if he'd look her way. She heard the...
