Topic: Cover Songs.
Posted: 21 Nov 2017 04:38

Definitely an interesting and contentious topic. Personally the major thing I dislike about covers is when someone re-records a song (releasing it as a single) and doesn't actually do anything different with it, almost copies and pastes! A case in point being Handbags and Glad Rags, Rod Stewart and Stereophonics...

that is as opposed to Voodoo Child by the Legendary Mr Hendrix and also by the lesser known Rogue Traders

Love them both.

As for possibly the best ever cover... the Scottish National Anthem, Flower of Scotland

Posted: 14 Nov 2017 07:57

Well Edward, it seems birthday wishes are in order and to be honest, I don't really know you but you do come with the highest recommendations so here goes. Happy Birthday, may the road rise up to meet and you, may the wind be always at your back and may you be in heaven a half-hour before the devil knows you're dead... tho of course that'll be a long while from now.

Topic: Which improvements or features would you like to see added?
Posted: 08 Nov 2017 17:10

I was just thinking and I know it would take some programming but i was wondering it the top story/slot on your home page could be modified. The idea being that when you run a competition the stories featured would appear, either rolling or the next one when ever the page is refreshed. When your not running a competition you could feature recommended reads or the like. Just a thought.

Cheers Wylie

In theory, if a pack is shuffled randomly, there has never been an identical deal of cards laid out since the 52 card pack came into use!

Peripheral Vision

Just for a moment I wondered if the red wine was going to spurt out of my nose as I coughed in surprise to the question that had just been put to me from across the table. As I rallied myself I reckoned that was an image there would be no coming back from! Of course, officially, this wasn’t a date per se. Just two friends/acquaintances having a meal together; that had been stood up by...

Quiet Please

or   Pushing the Librarian’s Buttons   It was just the local library. Every Thursday evening I would stop in there when it was open till 8 pm. I wasn’t a member; I didn’t need to be as long as I didn’t want to take any books out. The staff were friendly enough and didn’t mind you bending the rules and bringing in coffee to drink, I often bought a couple of extra ones for them as...

What Friends are For!

I couldn’t believe myself! But, my heart was pounding loudly in my chest as I surrendered myself to this stranger in a dank, dirty alley and a lustful almost maniacal smile spread across my lips. I felt it start and begin to spread from within my belly as this strangers cock shoved roughly up into my soaking slit. A moan slipped from my lips, getting louder as the first hint of my orgasm...

It’s that time of night. Jamie is snoring quietly beside me. I can hardly define it as a snore; quite cute really, like a quiet little moan from his nose each time he exhales. He really is quite the cutie on the whole, even tries to cuddle and chat after the deed and manages quite well for a couple of minutes until his answers become nonsense and then gibberish till at last they’re just...

Love Kills

They say it’s blind, Maybe, maybe not. But it blinds!   In the name of the father, The mother, One’s country. God!   We protect that, which we love, From suffering, from harm, from hate, Against all.   Beyond reason, beyond sanity, Beyond our own life. And in defiant defence is where we fail.   We are all one in our desire for love, The stronger our love, The more we...

Santa Visits Bad Girls Too

Mary walked through the shopping mall idly gazing into all the shops windows with their festive displays. Tinsel and fairy lights were strung across the wide walkway and small Christmas Trees flashed and twinkled every twenty yards or so. She thought to herself that she would never get use to the hot season here in Brisbane. Strolling about in bright sunshine wearing just a pink halter...

A Battle of Will

She laughed and gave me a friendly jab on the shoulder. That wouldhave been it, if I hadn't retaliated in kind. Now, I'm no beefcake and I've never been a fitness addict but I am naturally slim and I have, what you might call, a wiry strength. I've no idea what I could lift but I have 'pumped' above my weight using our most powerful muscle, the brain. Shifted girders and such where a...

A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall

Author’s Note ;this is not a political statement on any countries politics or foreign policy. It could be set in Syria today (though certain details make that highly unlikely) or set in the future in the States where citizens are defending themselves against a draconian government’s attempt to ban guns (that was a joke), it is a statement about the general futility and brutality of war...

The universe no longer expanded. Galaxies, nebulae, even the stars themselves, Gone in the blink of an eye, Or the meeting of flesh upon flesh. Once there had been a world and people, Now in the last minutes they had evaporated from my mind,  Gradually diminishing. The town and people I knew. Gone. Faded along with the neighbourhood. Relations, friends; melted to nothing. ...
