I am interested in your views on this topic folks .

I admit to having a certain style of which I am happy with. Its more of the classical lines of Jacket ( tailored sportscoat or blazer), open necked shirt with smart denims or chinos and brown shoes .

In a way its been a kind of gentle pressure from my OH that I dress this way . Let me explain. During the week my OH is a cake decorator and confectioner and so she wears scruffy/old jeans and tops all week that become caked ( no pun intended) in sugar and she smells very "cakey" when she comes home . So when it comes to weekend when we go out she dresses very girlie and normally spends hours in the bathroom getting ready and chooses usually a very nice dress with jacket and clutch bag to match. Not forgetting the heels or boots of course . Therefore I need to dress and quite happily doing it to match her and compliment her and also myself at the same time. Therefore a baggy T shirt with worn baggy jeans doesn't cut it in this instance even though I tend to wear these type of clothes during the working week.

So if you like this has become my style and have received compliments of others ( both genders) .

I prefer to be well dressed and over dressed all the time.

I don't like wearing torn clothes at all and this is coming from a punk chick.

I am overdressed for most things. I don't own a pair of trousers, I hate them. I am skirts and dresses only.

I am tall and lanky at 6 ft. 3 in. weighing 172 lbs. Finding medium tall or medium long clothes has always been a problem, worse now than in the past. My fashion sense is the K.I.S.S. principal; Wrangler or Rustler jeans purchased from whichever discount store has them on sale, tee-shirts from Duluth Trading Company, chambray or khaki work shirts. Shoes are canvas desert boots, canvas boating shoes or an old combat boots. I don't own nor wear jewelry, not even a wedding ring.

If I can't throw whatever clothes I'm wearing into the washing machine, I don't won't them. I do have one charcoal gray three-piece suit, with three matching dress shirts and ties I purchased in 1984; and yes, it still fits.

So, I reckon, as long as I'm neat and clean, I don't really care.

I'm not much into fashion, but I prefer 'a gentleman's suit' over others ...

I am into comfort, not fashion. Slacks and a golf or sport shirt for work or social occasions, sweatpants and something casual at home. I own a suit for special occasions like graduations, weddings, etc.

I like slacks, a button down shirt (Orvis Men's cut fit me nicely), and a sports coat or cashmere pull over. I often wear a tie when it's not blistering hot and have many to choose from thanks to my father's obsession. I still haven't found that black skirt.

Not into fashion at all, really never have been. The day after I retired I donated almost all my suits, slacks, sports coats and many ties to Goodwill. I kept 1 charcoal grey suit for weddings/funerals, a couple of sports coats and a pair of slacks that goes with both and a few favorite ties. Now I wear jeans or shorts, depending on the season, along with either T-shirts or long sleeved pull over shirts. Even when I wore a suit and tie every day I chose them by how they looked on me not whether or not they were in style.

Blue jeans and tee shirts or work shirts; shorts and tee shirts or work shirts. High top tennis shoes, boat shoes or boots. If I can't drop down and crawl under a vehicle, tractor, work on my boat or work in my shop, I don't wear it.

I personally don't care - I'm a jeans and tee shirt guy, add a flannel shirt when it's cold.

My SO is much more into style than I. We didn't do much going out in the last year because do you remember last year? But she looks good when she dresses up, and I want to look good next to her, which causes me to up my game a bit. Plus it makes her happy. And i do clean up well. smile Win-win.

I grew up on a farm, so I never really developed much of a fashion sense until I finished grad school and had to dress for a professional position. But I'm basically a country girl, and blue jeans and braless are my style. My face and figure have always been the main attraction, not my clothes, so tight jeans and clingy tops display my best qualities.

I love dressing well, but am no necessarily going to be a slavish follower of the latest fashions. I tend to go for quality rather than the latest thing to come down the catwalk. I have no objection to wearing pants/trousers as long as the fabric is appropriate and they are well-cut and tailored. I guess I want to look nice and pleasing not only to my eye but to that of other women and, of course, men.

All my life I think I have had an instinctive notion of what is stylish, which is different from some fashions which tend to be silly innovation for the sake of it.

I guess I'm a traditionalist and definitely out of touch with most of peers.  Prefer being dressed up rather than casual.  Skirt and Blouse or Dress over shorts or pants.  High heels when I can.  Nylons but not a pantyhose wearer normally.

What interests me is how my style has changed in the time since I became single again. Beginning to get myself ready for fall and winter I realize I have relatively few things left from my married days. My teenage daughters have been an influence, but so has the fact that I have a social life with some fun dating

It's not my number one priority right now.

To this day, I only care about how I look. Will only give my opinion if asked for but in saying that, I am known for complementing strangers when their attire catches my attention.

I live on a beach and dress like I live on a beach. I wear t-shirts, faded and mostly worn out jeans and shorts…I prefer to be barefoot. From days past I have a closet full of custom made clothes and shoes which I only wear a few times a year if that. I find that I like women with beautiful panties and bras…I could care less what they wear over them.

I like a guy to have style but I wouldn’t say I have a particular preference. I just can tell if he looks after himself (grooming as well as fashion) and that’s a big plus for me

I prefer a man well-dressed over a casually-dressed man. Same with a woman. Always overdress myself whenever I can - skirt/blouse vice dress (although dress over pants!), high heels, nylons. Style is ALWAYS in fashion with me and my guy.

I used to love fashion and was always up-to-date on the latest trends. I also had a blog on fashion. Now I dress for comfort, although I wear a modest dress or skirt every weekend, sometimes more depending on the occasion. But I no longer have stacks of VOGUE and watch runways.

I have never cared about what the so-called experts think is fashionable. I do me. I'm low-maint and non-fussy in every way. Wear my hair in a style that takes minutes to fix, wear little makeup - foundation, mascara, and a glossy lip, and hate layers of clothing. I'm eclectic based on mood. Have a hard-fast rule that if bottoms are clingy, top is loose, and vice versa. Same as showing skin. It's either legs or cleavage/shoulders - never both at same time. I have sensory issues and must have a comfy, soft fabric. You'll never see me in a button-up shirt, jacket, or pantyhose ... drives me crazy.
