Recently I learned an essential guideline for good writing. Granted, I'm not as experienced with writing but I found this to be very useful and wanted to share.
When writing it is better to Show It Not Tell it. Give Information through action and dialog versus narration.
I was known for not following this which I believe made my writing stale. But, now that I've started following this guide I find my writing easier, more fluid and better to read. My latest upcoming story will reflect this, of course it's not complete yet.
This is pretty much for everyone, but I am curious as to what tips everyone may have at improving their writing. I ask because I find my writing is the same and I would like to improve.
Its been a long hiatus since I last posted or even written anything. However late last night the writing bug came back to me and I've started writing again. I've find that environment plays a significant part in writing inspiration.
Its good to be back in the groove
Since I'm fairly new at this, I am finding that many of my stories seem to be very similar and I'm curious if anyone has fallen into this type of "habit". And if anyone would have any good suggestions or comments on the stories I've posted so far. This way it will help me improve my writing, I appreciate any help you can provide. And don't worry I am looking for criticism and etc.
thanks
Rob
I'm just curious what those Score numbers mean that are next to your stories?
