My list of should wins for the big categories smile

comedy series: glow
drama series: hard one, but GoT. Westworld and Handmaids tale would make me happy too.
limited series: patrick melrose
lead actor tv movie/limited series: benedict cumberbatch
lead actress tv movie/limited series: michelle dockery
lead actor comedy: donald glover
lead actress comedy: rachel brosnahan
lead actor drama: jeffrey wright
lead actress drama: tatiana maslany - any other choice is wrong and insulting.
supporting actor drama: the dinkels! biggrin
supporting actress drama: thandie newton
supporting actor comedy: tony shalhoub
supporting actress comedy: betty gilpin or zazie beetz

You can’t truly call yourself peaceful unless you are capable of violence. If you’re not capable of violence, you’re not peaceful. You’re harmless.

Pretty good picks. I have a hard time disagreeing with any of those. Except Jeffrey Wright. Jason Bateman should win that category.

i have always been a fan of Wrights, so there may be bias involved. smile

Most critics seem to love him and his performance.

I find that character mundane and very unenjoyable. So annoying... I realize that I am in the the minority though.

i think that, especially in the second season, Bernard is really the heart of the show. i found his performance very nuanced, if subtly so. i think that, once you've seen the entire season, and you know the twists and turns, you go back and watch the older epis and you'll see. smile

I just finished watching Killing Eve....

Great show. But I think it was a mistake that Sandra Oh was nominated and Jodie Comer wasn't.

Sandra Oh did a great job...she always does...blah blah blah. She's also the first Asian to be nominated for best actress in a drama... and I'm beginning to feel as if we are a few years away from breaking down "best actor" awards based on race.

"And... the best hispanic, cisgendered, actor in a drama goes to...."

And Sandra Oh is Canadian... I know most people don't know that. Mainly because unless an actor walks around drinking maple syrup and wearing plush moose ears nobody knows that that they aren't just a moderately smarter Minnesotan.

But us Canucks always know who the other Canadians are. It's our version of "gaydar."

We just look at a celebrity and say: "Are they attractive? Are they funny? Do they seem 10-20% less douchy than other celebrities?" Ding!Ding!Ding! Canadian.

Side note: Justine Beiber is the exception.

But back to the topic.... Jodie Comer should have been nominated. She makes the show.
