Keith Richards, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Eddie Van Halen
Kenny Burrell; Wes Montgomery.

Prince's solo on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps." takes some beating. (see my profile page)
Jerry Garcia. I'm a Deadhead for life.
Me - now am I alive or dead...
Keith Richards. Coolest dude on the planet haha
Randy Atcher of Hayloft Hoedown
Garcia without a doubt.
Clapton
Joe Bonamassa is coming on fast...
Richard Pleasance from Boom Crash Opera.

And I s'pose I wouldn't be a true Aussie if I didn't put my hand up for Angus Young from AC/DC too.
My latest story is a racy little piece about what happens when someone cute from work invites you over to watch Netflix and Chill.
Is Malmsteem a guitarist? I think he is great.
I could show you INCREDIBLE things...
Hard to pick, I'd go Angus Young, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Mark Knophler and Slash
randy rhodes ,, ozzy
So many to choose from but the stand out for me would be 2 Jim's. Hendrix and Page with Page having the edge because of his versatility over 4 of the best albums any group has ever made, and my best band are the Beatles, and what he did thereafter. And of course he didn't die young.
John Martyn
Hank Marvin,,, Willie Nelson,,, Bruce Walsh
Brian may
Eddie van halen
This is hard as I come from a family with at least thee generations of guitarists:
Classical: Julian Bream (dead); John Williams (alive)
Flamenco: Carlos Montoya(dead); Paco di Lucia (alive)
All Current Music: Stevie Ray Vaughan (dead); Jesse Cook (alive)
Has to be Jimmy Page.
"A dirty book is rarely dusty"
"Joe F'in' Perry", as Tyler called him at all the concerts I've gone to.
best dead guitairist ,,,,, my choice is stevie ray Vaughn,, alive well too many to choose from and genres . great guitar play isn't necessarily just rock pop or country music....many romantic Spanish guitar players are great ... with a romantic and soothing pace .. with heat boiling under the surface
Chuck Berry and John Mayer.
Matt Pike, Jus Oborne and Liz Buckingham are some of my favs right now
RIP

RIP
BB king

Read in Rolling Stone not long ago where one of the members of ZZ Top (Gibbons, I think) said their band's name was a tribute to him... Was originally to be "ZZ King", but they felt that was too close. But BB is the top, so use that instead.

I'm sorry, but if I were out to pay tribute to someone, I'd rather they sue me for using their name without permission or something than replace the surname with some simple word using an excuse like that. (Not to mention not everyone necessarily thinks/thought BB is/was the top, so if they disagree, your name by association means less to them.)

Also, need to mention some other decent guitarists: Slash (gave Joe Perry back one of his old ones a few years back), & someone not in "the business": Conan O'Brien.
Up until last Friday I would have gone with some I've seen mentioned here already, including Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Tommy Emmanuel, Carlos Santana... so many.

And then last Friday I was introduced to the music and talent of Joe Bonamassa.

Seriously people, if you love music that is music, then look him up. And if you love blues then you will love his albums with Beth Hart.

Just go and listen.

And an aside? He was discovered at 12 years of age by BB King, who had him OPEN for him!
